When we finally decided to put a canopy on our truck, our first stop was Canopy West Truck Accessories. We’ve seen their name multiple times in different forums, and since they’re also close enough to where we are, we decided to give them a shot.
They also have several branches in the city, but the one we pulled into was the one in Surrey. Upon walking in, the guy behind the counter smiled and nodded at us before asking what we were looking for.
If you’re quite unsure of what type of canopy to get, don’t worry as they will ask you what you’re planning to use it for. For those searching for canopies for camping trips, you’ll love that they have several options for you to choose from.
They also have well-known truck canopy models like the A.R.E., so if you’re after these more premium brands, then you can hit this shop for it too.
In case you need assistance on hard-to-find pieces, this shop will be there to help you. Moreover, they can also fabricate custom parts for you.
However, the installation didn’t happen on the same day of our visit. You have to wait for at least a week, so better manage your expectations if you’re choosing Canopy West Truck Accessories.

“FARM BOY, JOB WELL DONE 👏 Lavern, is amazing. I was in need of accessories for my truck, he said he was gonna look around and call me, and within less than an hour he called back! Lots of places forget to call but he was on top of it. He has such a bubbly and humble personality. Upon hearing that Cap-it Richmond carries their own line of canopies, we immediately decided to drop by their store too. We didn’t have a hard time searching for their store either, as we already saw their huge red and white logo from afar.
Their store is pretty huge, so try to not get overwhelmed by several truck accessories and canopies that are on display. Nonetheless, we’re quite sure you’ll enjoy your time here—we even felt like kids in a big toy store!
Aside from truck canopies, you can buy accessories such as lights, rooftop tents, recovery gear, and even seat covers here. We honestly had to check our budget, as our cart was starting to fill up even before choosing a truck canopy.
We just noticed that their staff was very busy, so getting their attention would be a little challenging. Just prepare to go here with lots of patience, especially when there’s a surge of shoppers.
You can also expect them to not go much into detail about the types of canopies, which made us feel that they’re not a great fit for those who don’t have any idea about the product.
On a lighter note, we liked that we can try and explore the different canopies on display. This made it even easier to choose, allowing you to get a good feel of the different truck canopies they have.

We heard about Jaw Truck Canopies from someone from our 4×4 social media group. Since they were raving about affordable rates, we took it as a sign to visit them as we were strictly working on a budget.
When we got there, two guys wearing overalls were ready to assist us. They immediately took us to the garage, and there we saw different types of canopies organized in towers.
And if you’re in a hurry, you’ll love that they can install on the same-day of your purchase. Even better, they will clean the canopy even before installing it on your truck—all happening while you settle their reasonable invoice.
It only took them 30 seconds to install the canopies. And after that, you can expect two workers to walk around your truck, just to make sure the fit is perfect before they hand it over to you.
They also have used and refurbished canopies too, so if you really want to save a few bucks, we suggest exploring it too. Just be ready to see a few scratches here and there, and possibly an unmatched paint color on your truck too!

Quick turnaround time
“My canopy finally leaked and squeaked. I bought it 12 years ago when the truck was new. Lasted a while. We took it back to JAWS Canopy (where we bought it 12 years ago) to get it relined. For off-roading activities, we highly recommend North Shore Off-Road. Here, you can get a truck canopy that can be used during your weekend camping trips.
You can also find different types of camping gears, so this is a perfect one-stop shop if you need to replenish your stock before that trip. Aside from the truck canopy, we decided to get winches and bumpers too.
We loved exploring their heavy-duty canopies too. So if you’re looking for those with heavy-duty locks and of course, weatherproof seals, then you’ve come to the right place.
Meanwhile, if you love bringing your bikes or kayaks with you, we suggest asking for their aluminum canopy. Make sure it has a built-in roof rack so you can easily (and safely) haul your bikes and kayaks while in transit.
This shop is also a great spot if you want to customize your canopies. One of our friends recently added interior lights, so that’s probably the next one on our list too!
However, prepare to shell out a bit more at North Shore Off-Road. But for us, we didn’t mind paying extra for a custom-fit and smooth installation process.
The best part is that they even scheduled a post-installation checkup two weeks later, just to make sure that they properly locked everything in place.

If you prefer a clean and organized truck canopy store, then we highly recommend Showcase Truck Accessories. What we liked about them is that their staff will take time to come out of the parking lot, just to thoroughly inspect our truck.
One of our friends went with us to purchase his first truck canopy first. He appreciated the level of assistance–they even made sure he understood the different features of various truck canopies presented to him.
With this, we felt like they’re a good fit for newbies. So if you also have limited knowledge on truck canopies, you can consider going to this shop too.
We also saw a few fiberglass designs which we haven’t seen from the other truck canopy shops we went to. They even looked customized to us, so if you want your truck to stand out without spending extra on a customized one, then feel free to explore!
Another thing that we liked about them is that they made sure to clean the truck too upon turnover, which is a big plus, especially that cleaning wasn’t even part of the invoice.
And here’s the best part: they can install truck canopies in your own garage. That’s great news for busy people who can’t afford a trip to their shop.
However, they’ve got limited inventory onsite. So don’t expect to come out with a new truck canopy installed on the same day of your visit.
