We visited these 5 best wheel shops in Vancouver and our 10-year ride looked so brand new!

best-wheel-shops-vancouver
We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Our 10-year old car had been through 10 winters, plus several potholes here and there. We’ve been putting this on hold for a while now, but recently we decided that it’s time to give our cold car the love it deserves.

Since we don’t know anything about wheels, we started looking at ads online, and even asked around for recommendations. Now, we know that we have the best wheel shops around the city—those that we can trust to give our wheels their much-needed TLC.

So if you’re looking for a repair or a complete overhaul, we’ve listed down the ones that would make your old cars look like their brand new.

How much does a wheel cost in Vancouver?

Wheel repairs in Vancouver can start at $140. Meanwhile, wheel replacement may start around $854, with labor costs amounting to $44.

How we chose:

  • Range of products: We checked if the wheel shops carry wheels in various styles and finishes. We also considered those that offer both budget-friendly rims and high-end ones.
  • Customization: We included wheel shops that offer custom finishes.
  • Convenience: We considered wheel shops that are available all week, including those with extensive business hours. Plus points for those that can offer mobile services.
  • Turnaround time: We assessed how quick these wheel shops were during installation. We also checked those that can accommodate clients right away.

Our friend has an old Civic, and while it still drives smoothly, it lacked its appeal—until he decided to install new wheels. It was a real head-turner that we even asked him if it was a completely different ride.

That’s how we knew Sorat Wheels & Tires. And of course, we ended up checking them the following weekend too!

We weren’t planning to change our wheels, but seeing their wide range of products made us decide on the spot. Good thing, this wheel shop offers both budget-friendly rims and high-end options.

Since we just recently bought a new car, we opted for their budget-friendly wheel selection. They helped us choose between their classic range and sporty range.

And if you’re quite unsure, their staff will surely help you based on your lifestyle. Just be ready to get overwhelmed with multiple rim options being pulled out from the stockroom.

While their shop is organized and clean, we noticed that they’ve got limited seats in-store. So it’s a bit challenging if you’re planning to stay during installation, especially during peak hours.

But don’t worry, they can install them in less than an hour!

Meanwhile, you can also bring your flat tires here, and they’d be glad to assist you.

Pros

  • Wide range of products
  • Several designs and styles
  • Organized and clean shop
  • Can install in less than an hour

Cons

  • Limited seats in-store
  • Longer waiting period during weekends

Offers fancy rims and tires

“The service and organization at this shop is mind blowing. Superman style quick and easy. I get my tires changed here every season and they store them too. I drive from

Coquitlam to North Van every season bc of the service and professionalism. 100 percent impressive. They also sell all sorts of fancy rims and tires. A definite “need to check out” if rim shopping.”

Competitive rates

“had my Toyota tires replaced there. Arrived at the appointment time at 10:am and had my car ready at 11:am as promised. Price was very competitive and even lower that most other stores. Their sales office and work shop is nice and clean and they treat you very professionally. Nice place to have your wheels and or tires changed.”

We never really experienced buying wheels online until we encountered 1010TIRES.COM. It was so good that we wished we could’ve done it sooner.

Our friend sent us their website after hearing about our plans of getting new rims for our mini truck. You don’t need to call them ahead to book an appointment, just head over to their site, choose a branch, and pick a convenient date and time for you.

If you’re planning to change all four wheels, you can avail a great discount and even free shipping if you buy the whole set from them. But if you really want to take advantage of their promo, we suggest going for their wheel-and-tire package.

However, some tires and wheels are low in stock. So if you’re going for this wheel shop, you have to be ready for the possibility of a longer lead time, especially for custom orders.

Meanwhile, if you still prefer going to their onsite store, you can order the wheels in advance and just opt for an in-store pick-up, which is an ideal option if you can’t handle the installation.

In our case, we still love going to their store. Aside from looking very premium, all their displays are clean and organized, allowing us to easily see what we wanted.

Another thing that we liked about them is that they made sure to double check the wheels before mounting them, preventing them from wasting time and effort.

Pros

  • User-friendly website
  • Can avail pick-up option

Cons

  • Longer lead times for some products
  • Not open on Sundays

Smooth online transaction

“Customer service is excellent, ordered my wheels and tires online it was a smooth transaction plus!! They guaranty the fitments for your car and cater to what you need and the instalment on my vehicle was fast. Thanks to 1010tires for these awesome fitments on my car.”

Fast service

“Great customer experience. They ordered my tire, got it into the shop in two days, booked me in, and replaced the tire quickly. I was in and out in 20 minutes. Recommend!”

If you’re looking for a wheel shop that offers mobile services, then here’s Western Wheelcraft for you, perfect if you don’t want to reorganize your day.

When we called them for an appointment, we were still quite unsure if we’re going for a complete overhaul or just wanted a new finish. Don’t worry, if you feel the same way, these guys will be able to help you decide.

What we liked about their product selection is that we’re not only limited to generic colors. So if you’re building your project car, or just want to be creative in your garage, you’ll enjoy checking their wheel selection in different tones.

It’s also great that they were able to match the paint color exactly to our car. You would even think that those wheels went originally with the vehicle.

You’ll also love that they offer wheel protection insurance—something that we honestly didn’t consider before. The roads from our place leading to the main highway have surprise potholes, so we knew we just had to get that insurance.

The shop is also open all week, so if you’re only available on weekends, you’ll love that they remain open for you.

Pros

  • Has mobile services
  • Can claim wheel protection insurance

Cons

  • Mobile appointments could be cancelled on the last minute
  • Selection might feel limited during mobile services

Open seven days a week

“Great shop, very easy to setup a time to get my car rims to fix , the best part is it’s only takes one day to get it fixed, drop in, in the morning pickup the same day afternoon, shop opens 7 days a week. One summer night, we scuffed our rims while we were trying to parallel park on the street side. We initially thought that it was just a small scratch, until we saw how bad it looked in broad daylight.

Since we hate seeing scratches, we immediately thought of getting fixed at Razor Rim Repair. After showing them the damaged rim, they took the time to check the others too just to make sure we didn’t miss a spot.

Well, good thing they did that as we didn’t notice that we had a worse one—a cracked rim. While we had to leave the car, we only had to sacrifice one day without it.

Meanwhile, if you own luxury cars, you can also get them to work on your wheels too. They’re great at color-matching, so your wheels won’t look weird against your precious BMW.

You can also avail their mobile services. We tried that when we needed their service for our other vehicle, and we were surprised to see them an hour after making the call.

They’re also one of the affordable ones we found in the city, so if your budget’s a bit tight, then we highly recommend these guys.  However, you just need to free up your weekday schedule as their shop remains closed on weekends.

Pros

  • Fast service
  • Affordable rates
  • Comprehensive check-up
  • Provides updates to clients

Cons

  • Closed on weekends
  • No comfortable customer lounge

Efficient service

“Terry from Razor Rim Repair did a really great job on fixing the curb rash and color matched my aftermarket wheels. It look like new again. He is very efficient and an honest guy. I will not hesitate to go to him again. Thanks again!”

When our sister called us complaining about her tired-looking rims, we decided to accompany her to a wheel shop. We decided to drop by Big O Tires as that’s the closest one from her place.

We didn’t call ahead to set an appointment, that’s why we were pleased to know that they could still accommodate us. However, if you’re just walking in, be ready to wait for a while before they could assist you.

What we liked about these guys is that they always do a full inspection of your wheels and tires. We found out that her tires were already worn, so we decided to gor a complete overhaul.

Before presenting the options, they asked if we have a working budget that they should follow. They also took the time to check for ongoing promos and discuss some that were applicable to us.

They were able to replace everything in under two hours. And when we noticed that something’s a bit off in one of the wheels, they immediately fixed it without even trying to reason out.

However, parking was kind of a pain. So we suggest bringing just one car ride when visiting Big O Tires.

Pros

  • Has budget options and promos for their clients
  • Efficient process
  • Proactive manager

Cons

  • Limited parking slots
  • Longer waiting time for walk-in clients

Attends to all clients’ queries

“I got good pricing and excellent service. The price was competitive with Canadian Tire but the service and speed was much better. I had a lot of questions and the team looked after us well. I’m very happy with this shop.”

Daniel Nanson, Google Review

Provides solutions that fit your budget

“Good, honest service at a decent price. The crew we’re happy to work with me and provide various solutions within my budget. Would recommend.”
