We normally just wipe away ants whenever we see them on the kitchen counter. But one morning, when we were about to make sourdough toast, we saw a lot of ants marching on the counter like they were celebrating a feast (quite literally!).
We’ve been contacting Westside Pest Control for our other pest control needs, and we know that they’re fast enough to respond, especially now that we’re already in panic mode.
We didn’t need to provide them with our details as it was already saved in their database. They just gave us a three-hour window to wait for one of their guys to arrive.
When the technician came, he took the time to get to know the history first, as it’s important for them to know if we’ve been experiencing an infestation for quite a while.
Based on our answers, he was quick to determine the source of entry points. Luckily, there were no nests found in the area–just some cracks on the window that had to be sealed completely.
They will also give you liquid ant baits to re-apply both inside and outside your home. We just don’t recommend applying them if the problem or entry area is easily accessible to kids and pets.

At times, we really feel the need to be stingy. That’s why we end up searching for DIY solutions to get rid of pests, especially when we feel like seeing ants here and there is pretty manageable—well, until they infest our entire pantry!
After seeing that vinegar and peppermint oil solutions weren’t cutting it, we knew we had to go to the experts. Good thing, our neighbor recommended Phantom Pest Control.
We tried to ask around and found their rates to be the most affordable. So if you’re searching for a budget-friendly company that can get rid of Ant-Man and friends, then go for them.
Meanwhile, if you’ve got kids and pets at home, we recommend that you choose their non-toxic products. The technician even mentioned that their eco-friendly treatment plan has become the most favored one among commercial properties too.
We also recommend these guys if you want to be discreet in your neighborhood. Since we didn’t want to broadcast that we’re dealing with an ant infestation, their unmarked vehicles come in handy.
And while they provide same-day services, don’t expect them to be at your doorstep right away. It took hours (almost sunset) when they arrived, but if you’re not in emergency mode, then we think it’s pretty manageable.

Last year, we experienced a major pest problem on our porch. And because we sort of disregarded it for the first few weeks, it got even worse that we started seeing ants being too comfortable in our kitchen.
One afternoon, we saw a Local Pest Control’s truck parked around the block. We talked to one of the guys and was surprised to know that they could come over on the same day just to check the situation.
While they worked round the clock, we were bound to leave that evening so we just had it rescheduled for the next day. On the day of the appointment, we didn’t expect the technicians to go full-on detective mode, but we’re glad they did.
The technician made sure to check all the corners of the house, inside and out, which allowed them to see where they’re nesting. There were also multiple entry points on our doors and windows, which we didn’t even notice.
We loved watching the technician as he meticulously applied solutions all over our home. He also made sure to seal all the gaps too.
Also, make sure to check if a tree branch is touching your home, as that could also be a culprit! We were really happy with the service, but our most favorite part was learning how to prevent the same problem from recurring.
So yes, airtight containers are our best friends now. And if you’ve got pets around, make sure to not leave their food overnight so you can avoid attracting those annoying ants once and for all.

For those of you who own a food business, seeing ants anywhere is too stressful. We’ve been there, and we’re glad we were able to meet Eastside Pest Control Vancouver.
We were actually ready to close the cafe, but we’re surprised that these guys worked discreetly, allowing us to entertain our customers just like a normal business day.
We’re glad that they managed to arrive an hour before we opened the shop. But if you really prefer them to work without your customers around, don’t hesitate to tell them as they would gladly work around your schedule.
Another thing we loved about them is that we can book an appointment under short notice. We booked them in the evening, and they were able to book us the next day, which we found convenient.
We love that they also followed up to check if the initial worked properly. They even went to the store to assess if we needed follow-through treatments, so if you need a team that’s proactive enough to take care of it.
More importantly, they gave us different tips that we should do in all seasons just to make sure we prevent any infestations from happening again.

When we called them, they checked their availability on the same day. Next thing we knew, someone was right at our doorstep just two hours after making that call!
After introducing themselves, the technicians conducted a detailed inspection at home. We suggest putting the kids and pets away first so these pros can concentrate on identifying problem spots in your place.
What we loved about them is that they created a treatment plan on the spot, which means they don’t follow a one-size-fits-all approach to all households.
The treatment also happens on the same day. But don’t worry, you don’t need to leave the house as they use environmentally-products, you wouldn’t even smell a thing.
Also, non-toxic products don’t always equate to ineffective solutions, so don’t worry about recurring ant infestations from happening at your home.
To be honest, we were a bit skeptical, or should we say we were just ready to have a follow-up treatment plan. But by day two, we weren’t able to see any ants at all!
It’s been three months, and still no signs of annoying ants! However, it may require longer periods if ants have started to nest in your area.
