It’s that time of the year where we get a little too busy in the garage. A few days ago, we decided to grab a few car parts so we can give our old pick-up truck the makeover it deserves.
We initially allotted an hour of browsing through the aisles, but these car parts shops in Vancouver were so inviting (and complete), we ended up staying for more than three hours.
So whether you’re down to a car DIY project, or just need specific parts for a repair, make sure to visit the ones we tried—they’ll make things easier for you!
How much do car parts cost in Vancouver?
In Vancouver, the cost of car parts vary depending on the type of part, including the car’s make and model. Generally, brake pads may cost around $50 for a set of 4, an air filter may start at $15, and an oil filter may start around $10.
How we chose:
- Inventory: We checked if the shop has all the essential car parts in stock. We also considered shops that can source out hard-to-find car parts.
- Store layout: We assessed how organized their store layout is. Plus points for those with proper labels, making it easier for customers to browse in-store.
- Online presence: We included the shops that have an updated website. We also checked if ordering online is convenient.
- Return or exchange policy: We checked if the shop is lenient when it comes to returning and exchanging car parts, especially for warranty returns or even incorrect purchases.

Last winter, just when it was about to get colder than ever, we noticed that our windshield had started to fog up.
We initially thought that it was because of the decreasing temperature, but we immediately noticed that something’s wrong with our car heater. Since we live near NAPA Auto Parts, we decided to drop by to check a few car parts.
The staff even took time to hear our experience. He even helped us figure out what we exactly needed.
Their inventory is always full with the basic car parts down to the heavy-duty tools, so if you want to update your accessory and emergency rebuild kits, then this could be a convenient one-stop shop for you.
For those of you who are in a hurry, you’ll love that this shop offers same-day delivery. We even got surprised when the car parts arrived just an hour after we made a purchase.
Another thing that we liked about these guys is that they can source out hard-to-find items for you. In fact, the customer beside us was looking for a discontinued piece for his ‘80s truck.
Luckily, after making a few calls, NAPA was able to find one for him, which left us really impressed. So the next time you need a car part that you couldn’t seem to find elsewhere, try searching for it here instead.
Efficient staff
“I had a great experience thanks to Keivan’s excellent service. I’ve visited this NAPA location twice now, and I’ll definitely keep coming back here because of him. Keivan helped me both times and was super professional, knowledgeable, and patient. He made me feel welcome and went out of his way to make sure I got the best service possible. Really appreciate his help! Highly recommend this location.”

Great assistance in finding car parts
“I have been doing business with the 3rd Ave Napa since 2008. It has always been and continues to be my go to place for all my automotive parts and accessories. The staff always go the extra mile to help me and ensure that my orders are fulfilled in a timely manner. I honestly can’t imagine going anywhere else and they have literally helped me make a success of my business. It’s tough to find this level of professionalism and customer care in today’s business environment and everyone at this store is worth their weight in gold. A huge thank you to all without exception.”

One weekend, we decided to have a last-minute repair job in our garage. After replacing our car’s weak battery and our old wiper blades, we figured we needed extra tools to complete our little garage project.
Good thing, Lordco Auto Parts is known to have a wide range of car parts, including accessories and other must-haves for the car guys out there. Honestly, their store was so organized that we ended up leaving with extra stuff that wasn’t part of our list.
If you’re working on a budget, you better go straight ahead to your designated aisle, and avoid roaming around the shop—unless you want to end up carrying lots of shopping bags, just like us!
Speaking of budget, we love that they have weekly flyer deals too. So if you want exclusive discounts, make sure to sign up in their newsletter!
They also have a catalog, so if you don’t have enough time to check every aisle, we highly suggest asking their counter staff for the car parts that you’re trying to find.
We also loved that the cashier explained the process of claiming the warranty. We seldom keep receipts, that’s why we appreciated that they reminded us to take a photo of it—and even saved a copy on our email just in case the photo gets deleted.
Has the car parts in-stock

When our friend was searching for a specific alternator belt for his old Honda Civic, we tried contacting several auto parts shops just so we could find one. After weeks of unsuccessful attempts, a mechanic suggested that we try Vancouver Auto Parts.
Don’t let the store facade fool you though! While their shop appears small (and even outdated), they take time to search even the tiniest corners of their shop, just to find what you’re looking for.
And true enough, they were able to give our friend the alternator belt that he was trying to find from the big shops out there! He even gave us two options, which left us even more impressed.
If you’re quite unsure about the options, don’t worry they will help you decide without pushing for the more costly alternative.
For the DIY-ers out there, you’ll probably love spending your time here too. While they’ve got limited storage space, they seem to have all the car parts, including parts for vintage car models.
However, since they’re a bit old-school, don’t expect them to have a strong social media presence. And while they have a running website, you can’t place orders online, so you really need to allot time to visit them in-store.
Reasonable rates
“Lowest prices for parts that i know of, I’ve always saved money buying parts from here and usually get the parts in a few hours when they don’t have it in stock at their location. I don’t buy parts from anywhere else ever since i found out about these guys. The workers are very helpful. I was having a hard time finding a replacement bolt for my turbo manifold, brought them a sample bolt and they found one for me the next day and didn’t even charge me for it. Thanks guys!”

Gives discounts
“Absolutely brilliant. We use this shop for our work vehicles and brilliant. i took my personal vehicle there to prep it for out of province inspection so i cud get insured in bc. They priced everything out and gave discounts. Recently i had to get a new battery for my car, last minute and their mechanic had to leave early that day however the sales staff helped me sort it out myself. Absolutely brilliant. They are especially kind to women and dont give off the “theyre trying to gauge me price wise” vibe. Love love love.”

A couple of months ago, we had to replace a few accessories and a battery of our old Ford Ranger. Since we didn’t have enough time to spare, we knew we had to find a shop with good inventory.
Our cousin recently recommended Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts, since that was where he got car parts for his BMW. He also mentioned that this shop is budget-friendly, which makes it a total win for us.
When we got there, the store felt new. We actually enjoyed browsing their aisles as everything was organized–complete with bright lights, wide aisles, and properly labeled products.
They also have a cute little setup, which we think is dedicated to order pick-ups.
While you can shop online, their inventory isn’t always updated. Moreover, we highly discourage you from checking their stock online if you’re planning to buy them physically at the store, as it may be different from their stock in-store.
And if you can’t seem to find the car part that you’re looking for, they will ask you to fill out some details so they can order it for you. The best part is that you don’t have to wait for weeks, as you can expect them to be ready within 24 hours.
Good warranty service
“I have had great service from the staff, very helpful. Prices are competitive also. No issues with any warranties that I have had.”

We’ve heard that West Can Auto Parts is one of the go-to shops for those who love fixing their cars themselves. And upon seeing their place, we finally get why.
Recently, our friend needed to swap out the bars on his Subaru, until he realized that he didn’t have the correct spring compressor. We initially called one of his trusted car parts stores, but asked us to wait for at least three days before getting our order.
Since our friend couldn’t wait that long, we thought that it’s time to try West Can Auto Parts. And true enough, they got the gear that we needed—on the spot!
Here, you can also find specialty car fluids and hardware that are normally out-of-stock at other hardware stores.
We also loved interacting with their staff. They seem to love their jobs, as they were extremely helpful during our visit.
We weren’t even expecting them to lead us to the right aisle, but the guy at the counter walked us straight to the shelves filled with compressor kits.
Some of the items here were also on sale when we visited. So if you’ve got time to spare, consider going around the store to score great deals—we’ve got a torque wrench at half of its original price!
Great communication skills
“Just got off phone with one of reps. Bang! Helped me right away. Spent a couple hours searching parts across Canada online. Guy knew exactly the part I was talking about with no headache and no attitude. No need to go online from now on. I will call this place first now and get fast good service and competitive pricing.”

Lenient refund process
“Jessica was super friendly and clear on the phone and price matched Lordco. In the end when I found out I bought the wrong parts they even helped me refund it with no trouble even if it was a non-refundable item. I will definitely come back again.”
