During the last few months, we enjoyed preparing meals at home. Aside from being budget-friendly, we didn’t have to leave our place just to have decent meals.

Well, that was before we tried these New Westminster restaurants. Now, we’re constantly finding reasons to celebrate!

Upon entering the restaurant, we think that you’ll immediately fall in love with the stylish yet inviting decor. Their interiors are quite cozy and inviting, making it a perfect spot for casual dates.

While you’re here, don’t forget to try their wagyu beef carpaccio, crispy tofu quinoa, and curry butter chicken. It’s also a great chance to try the restaurant’s extensive whiskey collection, which is believed to be the largest one in the country.

Pro tip:

Consider parking around Surrey Central if you’re planning to stay a little longer. Here, you can enjoy 3 hours of parking for free.

For those craving Mexican food, you can head to El Santo for an upscale and sophisticated dining experience in New Westminster. You’ll love that this restaurant has reimagined Mexican classics, giving you a new taste of your favorites.

Some of the recommended dishes that you should try are the churros with dulce de leche, brussel sprouts, fish tacos, guac trio, and chile relleno.

It’s worth noting, however, that the restaurant doesn’t serve beef and tuna during lunch so plan your visit accordingly.

Meanwhile, you’ll also appreciate that their churros are made in-house, ensuring that they only serve fresh ones every day.

Servers’ attention is quite limited at El Santo’s patio area. So make sure to manage your expectations if you wish to dine in this area.

Additionally, you’ll love that you can enjoy a full coffee service, which we think is a perfect way to end your meal.

Pro tip:

If you’re a fan of seafood, don’t miss out on Kioku Kitchen’s Tomato Prawn Udon. It’s their take unique twist on traditional ramen filled with prawns in tomato broth.

10. Piva Modern Italian

If you love Italian food then you should try Piva Modern Italian. True to its name, this restaurant serves Italian dishes with a modern touch.

Upon entering, you’ll immediately notice its spacious layout, complete with high ceilings. You’ll love that their lights are hanging near the tables, perfect if you’re looking for a more warm environment.

For the main dishes, you can order wild boar meatballs, duck and fig pizza, and stewed beef rib. Meanwhile, for dessert, don’t forget to try the tiramisu sundae, which has an espresso gelato, mascarpone, lady finger, and chocolate orange brittle in it.
