Port Moody is a famous city for young professionals and working families, and I was lucky enough to be assigned to work here back in 2015. When I went to the city alone, I immediately fell in love with its laid-back vibe, complete with beautiful parks.
I decided to bring my little family along to explore the city even more. And since my wife and I don’t have the time to prepare meals on a daily basis, we discovered these unforgettable dining spots in Port Moody that we actually wished we knew sooner!
So whether you’re visiting the area or moving here for a time, make sure to check out these must-try dining spots on our list. They’re so great, it will make you fall in love with the place in an instant!

We were surprised to get our orders in just 90 seconds, so we honestly thought this was a fast food pizza spot. However, everything here at this pizzeria is made by hand (yes, including the dough and sauces)!
You can see the Italian chefs as they put your favorite pizza flavors in the brick oven. Most of the avid customers of PIzzeria Spacca Napoli even mentioned that this restaurant’s cooking process is close to the Neapolitan tradition, which is a plus.
Additionally, this pizza spot in Port Moody has been awarded as the best pizzeria in the entire Canada by the prestigious Gambero Rosso, an expert on Italian cuisine all over the world.
Pro tip: Consider pairing your pizza with their pasta dishes like their famous pappardelle ragu. Since they have generous servings, a bowl can be split into two. |

We love that they have options for vegetarians, ensuring that you won’t ditch your strict dietary requirements on your next pizza night.
We dropped by on a Wednesday, and we were lucky enough to score a bottle of wine at half of its original price. So, if you want to make the most of your wine night with friends, then consider grabbing their Wine Wednesday promo!
Meanwhile, if you happen to visit on a Sunday night, this pizza spot is expected to have a more lively vibe.
While they’ve got friendly and efficient servers, it’s worth noting that waiting time on weekends is longer than expected. So it’s best if you come here when you’re not too hungry.

When our friends bragged about their most authentic Japanese dining experience in the middle of Port Moody, we knew we had to check Hanayuki Sushi ourselves.
Here, it’s not just the cuisine, but the entire restaurant instantly transports you to the old side of Japan.
When you’re here, don’t forget to order their classic Japanese dishes such as tempura and ramen. If you’re a fan of broths with a balanced taste, then make sure to order a bowl here.
You have different options for your sushi rolls, too. Our personal favorite was the Angry Bird Roll. Just make sure to share it with a friend, as it’s quite huge for single consumption.
You can also plan a little nightcap with your friends and order authentic sake and beer—just like what you do when you’re on the land of the rising sun.

For those of you who are craving for different Southeast Asian dishes, Kurumba Restaurant could be your next favorite one-stop shop in Port Moody. It’s a casual eatery, so you don’t need to dress up just to get your favorite Southeast Asian specialties.
While you’re here, don’t miss out on their pad thai with chicken, Sri Lankan beef curry, and most especially, their roti canai. Some of their loyal Indian patrons even told us that the roti canai here really hits home.
You’ll love that they serve large portions here at Kurumba. We’re even surprised that a shareable plate can feed up to 4 people with an average appetite.
Also, here’s a useful tip: Consider requesting the bill early, or else you’d also have to wait for over thirty minutes before you could get it.
Pro tip: Milder versions of their dishes can still be spicier than usual. It would be best to warn the non-spicy eaters in the group before ordering any meal. |

If you’re eating with a small group, we recommend that you order combo meals instead.
We tried it the last time we visited this restaurant, and we were satisfied with the 4-item combo offerings, complete with chicken, fish and tofu hotpot, beef and green beans, and fried rice. It also comes with a soup and dessert, making it a filling meal for four!
And for those of you who love having your rice warm, you’ll love that Lougheed Wonton Restaurant has a small rice warmer bucket, one that is commonly found in traditional Chinese restaurants.

The brothers, Jaggi and Harsh, were our servers during our visit. They were very friendly—they even made sure that our orders were loaded with balanced toppings.
The serving portions are pretty large, too, so make sure to visit this Mediterranean spot with a group, or just come in hungry!

They also have lots of sauces to choose from. Our top favorites were the garlic sauce and sweet sauce.

We went there even without table reservations, and we were surprised to get seated right away. Additionally, the waiting time for our orders was reasonable, making it a great choice for those who can’t stay for too long.
Well, for us, we really didn’t mind waiting for our orders as we enjoyed taking photos with several white boats as our backdrop. Also, no need to worry about those chilly nights as they have a cozy heated patio all year round.
When it comes to their food, don’t miss out on their fish and chips and clam chowder. We ended our meals with one of the best lava cakes in the city too!
