For over 30 years, nestled in the vibrant neighborhood of Davie, Marquis Wine Cellars has provided a wide selection of local and global wines, which perhaps is their biggest strength as a business.
We’re talking wines from the Okanagan to the Cowichan Valley in BC, as well as international spirits from Italy, Spain, New Zealand, and Greece, among others. We know what you’re thinking, and yes, these are all available for pickup at their store.
Other than that, the shop also has a decent selection of 95+ point wines, which we found superb. These high-scoring wines are exceptionally rare, and having them in stock only strengthened the positive impression they left on us.
Inside, the interior of Marquis Wine Cellars is mostly made up of wood, with wine shelves arranged neatly by category and a long wooden table in the middle of the space where clients gather for tasting.
We were also fascinated to find out that Marquis Wine Cellars has a wine membership program where clients get to receive benefits such as offers and discounts to local events and tastings.
If you’re looking for local, international, or rare wines, we highly recommend stopping by Marquis Wine Cellars.

True to their name, Everything Wine lives up to it by stocking over 4,000 wines in-store and online and serving throughout British Columbia for more than 14 years.
First and foremost, we liked that they have six stores all around the city, including Vancouver, North Van, South Surrey, Langley, Abbotsford, and Victoria, as this makes their products accessible to many.
On top of that, we absolutely loved that they have a wide selection of wines under $25 because it allows customers to explore and try different varieties without breaking the bank.
Nevertheless, we liked their minimalist and spacious store. Everything Wine’s store is like a chic maze, but don’t worry about getting lost through their shelves; that’s what their staff is for, which we hear is very friendly.
In fact, most of the consumers we’ve spoken with praise how accommodating their staff is, making sure to direct them to the right section and offering recommendations based on their preferences.
They even have a wine school at their Langley location, where you can learn about wine pairings, tasting techniques, and many more.
Pros
- Wide selection of wines under $25
- 5% discount when you purchase 12 or more bottles
Cons
- No promos yet

The Artisan Wine Shop is the go-to for Okanagan Valley-based wines. But you’re not just here for the wine; you’re also here to learn about the Okanagan Valley, which is what sets them apart.
Just hop on a Seabus from Waterfront Station to Lonsdale Quay. This wine shop’s just inside the Lonsdale Quay Market, and from what we’ve seen, the shop is a bit cramped, but let’s be fair, their shelves are filled to the brim.
The Artisan Wine Shop offers three wine sets, which we absolutely love. If it’s your first time, we highly recommend you get the Grand Okanagan Valley Tour, as this set features wines from both the North and South Okanagan.
Another thing that impressed us is that clients can join the Artisan Wine Club. Now, this program includes tons of inclusions, such as bi-monthly wine shipments, access to discounts, free in-store premium wine flights, and many more.
We’d also like to add that by joining the Artisan Wine Club, you get complimentary shipping and private in-store tastings, which we thought was ideal for first-timers and enthusiasts looking to explore more flavors.
All in all, we think the Artisan Wine Shop is a must-visit for individuals looking for a break from their usual wine choices and wanting to discover unique locally-made wines.
Pros
- Specializes in Okanagan Valley-based wines
- Multiple inclusions by joining the Artisan Wine Club
Cons
- Relatively small store

Another option worth considering for BC wines is Massey Wines + Spirits. This wine shop specializes in small-farm BC wines as well as imported and organic wines and spirits, so you get the best of both worlds.
Massey Wines + Spirits sources its wines from Vancouver Island and the Okanagan Valley. We liked that they teamed up with many wineries, as they’re not just supporting the local economy but also treating us to diverse local wines.
Oh, but that’s not all—Massey Wines + Spirits also got a sweet stash from places like Chile, Germany, California, and Austria. Although we did notice that the selection of imported wines is not as extensive as the local offerings.
Despite that, we appreciate that Massey Wines + Spirits provides a detailed description of each of their wines on their website. We think it’s especially beneficial for clients who may not be familiar with certain types of wine or regions.
Additionally, many of the customers we’ve had the chance to interview shared how the store quickly became their go-to for local wines as they provided efficient and thoughtful service.
Overall, we think Massey Wines + Spirits is one of the best wine shops in Vancouver for locally-made wines.
Pros
- Specializes in small-farm BC wines
- Accepts wholesale wine orders
Cons
- Limited selection of imported wines

Located along the busy streets of Commercial Drive is Liberty Wine Merchants. This wine shop was established in 1986, and they have six wine locations in Metro Vancouver.
Perhaps the main reason why you should shop here is the endless choice of wines, including red, white, sparkling, fortified, and rosé, among others. We’re telling you, whatever your preference may be, there’s a big chance they have it in stock.
If we’re being honest, we weren’t surprised by this because, when we entered their store, there were rows and rows of shelves filled with bottles from all over the world.
The ambiance of this wine shop also makes us feel like we’re in a bookstore because of the organized and neatly arranged display of wines, as well as the dim yellow lighting inside.
We also liked that they don’t carry mass-produced wines despite their large selection. We thought this was a testament to their commitment to quality over quantity.
Overall, we’re happy with what we’ve seen as far as wines go. As for customer service, well, most of the clients we’ve talked to praise the store’s staff, as they’re always willing to help them locate a bottle that suits their preferences.
Pros
- Spacious and vintage store vibe
- Doesn’t carry mass-produced wines
Cons
- No membership program
Customer Reviews

Cool selection of craft alcohol
“Probably one of the BEST specialty wine/liquor/beer shops in the city. As it’s a private store they get to stock all the cool and craft alcohol that you can’t find at a government-run liquor store.”
-Mike W.
