I didn’t expect my promotion to mean spending so much time in front of big clients, but suddenly I was the face of the company! I knew I couldn’t show up looking sloppy, so my first move was to get a custom suit that made me look sharp and confident.
Luckily, I found a shop that had one ready in just a couple of weeks, and now it’s the suit that clients always notice and compliment.
Since dressing smart has made such a difference, I’m sharing the best menswear and custom suit shops in Vancouver.
This list leans toward premium clothing, but if you’re after something more casual, check out our guide to Vancouver’s best clothing stores.
How much does menswear cost in Vancouver?
In Vancouver, a made-to-measure or bespoke suit typically runs around $1,800, depending on fabric and detailing. If you’re looking for something more straightforward, off-the-rack suits usually cost about $650.

After hearing about the quality of suits made at Surmesur, the reviewer decided to give it a try. During the visit, the reviewer was paired with Roscoe, a stylist with 15 years of experience, who quickly developed a design that delivered a sharp, professional look.
The brand stands out for its personalized approach, particularly for weddings and special events. Clients can work one-on-one with a style advisor to create custom suits or tuxedos tailored to their vision, with options to coordinate outfits across an entire wedding party for a cohesive and refined appearance.
For professionals, Surmesur also offers corporate and business tailoring designed to elevate everyday workwear. Each garment is made-to-measure, allowing clients to choose premium fabrics and personalized details that enhance both comfort and confidence in office or client-facing settings.
The reviewer also appreciated its commitment to eco-friendly materials, working with mills like Stylbiella and Holland & Sherry, which are known for using organic and recycled fibres. This focus on sustainability adds value for clients looking to make more responsible fashion choices.
Another highlight was the option for custom shoes, which eliminates the need to shop elsewhere. The fit guarantee on suits also allows for free alterations until everything sits perfectly, reinforcing the brand’s focus on precision and satisfaction.
The main drawback noted is demand, as production and alterations can sometimes take several weeks. So make sure to contact them as early as possible.
The end result truly exceeded my expectations
“I had a wonderful experience at Surmesur working with Zachary on my custom suit. From the moment we started, he was welcoming, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable. He took the time to really listen to what I was looking for and offered thoughtful guidance throughout the fabric selection, fit, and design process. Zachary made the experience feel effortless and enjoyable, and the end result truly exceeded my expectations. The suit fits beautifully and reflects the care and attention he put into every detail. I highly recommend working with Zachary if you’re looking for a custom suit done right.”

2. Modernize Tailors

Products offered: Made-to-measure suits and shirts, bespoke tailoring, invisible mending for suits, and creative project collaborations
Address: 27 E Pender St
Phone number: +1 604-685-0610
Business hours: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (TUES-SAT)
If you’re looking for experience, check out Modernize Tailors. They’ve been around since 1913 and have tailored suits for famous people throughout the years, such as Leslie Nielsen and Arnold Schwarzenegger!
I’ve found they’re easy to work with, since they can help you in English, French, or Mandarin, which makes sense given the mix of people in the city.
Their bread and butter is made-to-measure suits and shirts, but they also handle tricky alterations and invisible mending for suits in case you’ve damaged a favourite piece.
What I like is that they don’t just stick to the basics. They take on creative projects and run regular promotions, like discounts on shirts or free accessories with suits.
However, you need to book an appointment first, and their phone can be unreliable, so emailing [email protected] is the safer bet.
The fabric selection was great
“I had the most amazing and fun experience at Modernize!! I was looking for a classic three-piece suit for my first custom suit and the team made my wish come true 💗 The fabric selection was great and I was able to find this beautiful and versatile navy blue fabric (shown in the photos). The team was also super easy to work with and the end result was everything I wanted – and it fit so nicely, making me look taller than I actually am. I wore the suit for some portraits and team photos and I’m so happy with how everything looks. THANK YOU!!”

I was thrilled with the results
“Last year, I brought a new off-the-rack Boss suit to Modernize Tailors in Vancouver for tailoring ahead of a wedding. The team was friendly, professional, and meticulous, ensuring a perfect fit that elevated the suit’s look and feel. I was thrilled with the results. After the event, a minor seam in the sleeve opened up, and they repaired it promptly at no charge, demonstrating excellent customer service. I highly recommend Modernize Tailors for their skilled alterations!”

3. Indochino

Products offered: Custom suits, shirts, blazers, pants, outerwear, and more
Address: 1014 Homer St #102
Phone number: +1 604-336-7674
Business hours:
11:00 AM – 7:00 PM (MON-FRI)
10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (SAT)
11:00 AM – 4:00 PM (SUN)
Indochino’s Vancouver showroom feels like a natural fit for the city, and they actually started here back in 2006. I’ve checked them out myself, and the setup is pretty straightforward.
You walk in, pick fabrics and choose linings, and the staff helps you sort out the details so the suit feels personal. They cover the basics like suits, shirts, blazers, and outerwear, and weddings are a big focus, too.
If you prefer staying home, their online appointments use Predictive Measurements, which is basically a system that guesses your fit from simple info like height and weight. It’s handy if you’re not keen on being measured in person.
Discounts are available for students and military personnel, and Klarna financing makes bigger purchases easier. They also run promos fairly often.
Unfortunately, payments only work with Visa, Mastercard, or AmEx, and there are size limits that can rule people out.
We felt like VIPs
“Went here just to accompany my husband. But I ended up getting a long coat for myself. 😊 Shawn was amazing! He’s thorough and knowledgeable with his work. We felt like VIPs. I will surely get my first customized suit from them.”

4. Bespoke Made Suits

Products offered: Fully custom suits, tailored shirts, and coats
Address: 470 Granville St #615
Phone number: +1 778-228-6798
Business hours: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM (MON-SUN)
One menswear shop that works quite differently from most is Bespoke Made Suits. They focus entirely on custom pieces, starting every service with a free phone consultation where you can go over fabrics and styles before making decisions.
What I found most interesting is that they send mobile tailors to your home or office, which saves a lot of time if you have a busy schedule.
The suits themselves are built using laser precision for measurements and finished with hand stitching, giving them a sharp silhouette.
I also like that they offer packages for weddings and business clients, which makes sense if you need more than one suit sorted out at once.
The tradeoff is that everything is by appointment only, and wedding fittings must be booked 12 weeks in advance.
I am astonished by the outcome every single time
“I’ve gotten a few suits made for my partner from Bespoke. We worked with Adam each time and he was always friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable. The process is seamless and I am astonished by the outcome every single time. Each piece we had made has been consistently crafted with precision and the quality shows not only in the fabrics but also down to the seams. We are very happy with our experiences so far and will gladly recommend Adam and his team to anyone who needs a suit!”

The clothes are clearly very high quality, and fit perfectly
“Just got two suits delivered from Bespoke, as well as a handful of shirts, and I will absolutely be going back to them in the future. The clothes are clearly very high quality, and fit perfectly. The amount you can customize the pieces is also very impressive. Adam, their representative, was not only super helpful throughout the entire process, but was always prompt, friendly, and professional. Would highly recommend Bespoke for anyone looking for a suit, or any type of formalwear more broadly.”

5. Moores Clothing for Men

Products offered: Dress shirts, sport coats, casual wear, custom suits, sweaters, tuxedoes, and more
Address: 524 Granville St
Phone number: +1 604-669-1712
Business hours:

10:00 AM – 9:00 PM (WED-FRI)
10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (SAT)
11:00 AM – 6:00 PM (SUN)
Another men’s wear shop with a long history in Canada is Moores Clothing for Men. They’ve been part of the scene since 1980, and in Vancouver, they can be a reliable choice when you need a suit quickly without spending too much.
Their stores carry a range of fits along with shirts, shoes, and a big and tall section that’s handy, since not every place here offers that. For weddings or formal nights, their packages make things easier, and they rent tuxedos as well.
Tailoring is done in-store, so you can leave with something that feels right.
I like that they provide free lifetime pressing and free shipping on orders over $99. They also run a rewards program that gives discounts and offers, though it only works in-store and not online.
It’s disappointing too to hear that some folks encountered unfriendly behaviour from their staff.
The store has a great selection and reasonable prices as well
“Rosie (from Moore’s downtown location) helped my wife and I find the perfect suit for me. She was very kind and helpful and went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and special. Thank you Rosie! The store has a great selection and reasonable prices as well.”

I left with a stunning suit
“I visited the Granville St., Vancouver store. I forgot my suit for an event that same evening and needed something off the rack. Your sales associate was quick to approach me to assist and gave me superb one-on-one service while we picked out a three piece suit. He offered genuine personal advice and I left with a stunning suit… in time for the event.”
