By public transit: catch the TransLink 150 bus at the bus stop. You can also take bus route 182, but then you’ll need to walk up White Pine Beach Road.

Sasamat Lake gets a dose of action several times a year with catchable rainbow trout, running in the impressive 10 to 12-inch range. If you’re into fishing, the scene can be nothing short of spectacular right after stocking.

While the fish at Sasamat Lake might not break any size records, they sure make up for it in numbers, and catching them is a breeze. Just a heads up, though – you’ll need a valid BC fishing license to join in on the action.

Just a heads up, it can get pretty bustling in the summer. There’s a decent amount of boat traffic, so you might catch a few waves, but nothing too wild or turbulent.

The Sasamat Lake Loop Trail, spanning 3.2 kilometers, winds its way through the enchanting second-growth forest encircling the glistening Sasamat Lake.

It’s a straightforward hike amidst the trees, offering some lovely views. The journey kicks off on the wooded trail of Sasamat Lake, then seamlessly transitions to the Woodhaven Trail, linking up with the Woodhaven Swamp.
