Tour route: We checked if the bicycle tour agencies cover the top or iconic tourist spots and neighborhoods.
Tour guide: We assessed whether the tour guide is knowledgeable about the city’s history and culture. Plus points for local guides who can share tips and those who can recommend the best restaurants around the city.
Safety: We checked if these bicycle tour agencies regularly maintain their bike fleet, ensuring the safety of their clients. We also considered whether they provide clear traffic instructions and prioritize safe biking routes.
Group size: We included bicycle tours that prefer small group sizes, allowing guides to spend more time and attention with each rider. We also considered those that offer private bicycle tours.
We usually book the typical sightseeing tours whenever we’re in a new city, until we realize that we’re almost rushing to the next landmark. It’s also unfortunate that we often end up with fewer photos towards the end of the trip.
That’s when we decided to try the best bicycle tours in Vancouver. The best part is that we’re losing calories while exploring the city too.
So if you don’t mind pedaling your way to the tourist spots here in the city, take a look at these bicycle tours we loved.
How much does a bicycle tour cost in Vancouver?
In Vancouver, a 4- to 5-hour bicycle tour starts at $115 per person. This rate already includes bike and helmet rental, a knowledgeable local guide, as well as convenient pickup and drop-off.

Before you begin the trip, the tour guide will discuss the bike route for the day. Additionally, if you’re on a private tour, you’ll love that you can skip a few spots and ask for better recommendations to see along the way.
It’s also great that the tour is well-planned, including ample time allocated for each iconic landmark. They also have several stops in between, which will allow you to appreciate and take photos of the refreshing and stunning views around the city.
Jeremy, our tour guide, had several stories and fun facts about the area. We love that he knows Vancouver well enough to answer all our questions.
We also appreciated that he kept assessing our energy during the tour, frequently asking if we needed a quick stop to refuel. He also brought water bottles, so you don’t need to bring one, and enjoy the ride comfortably.
Meanwhile, if pedaling tires you easily, an e-bike option is now available here at Vancouver Bike Tours. However, not all routes allow the use of e-bikes, so make sure to coordinate this ahead of time.
And before we left, he even gave us a list of recommended restaurants and additional spots to explore in the days to come.

Engaging tour guide
“We had the best experience today with tour guide Jeremy on our morning tour of Stanley Park & downtown. Jeremy was incredibly knowledgeable & engaging & had a lovely way of sharing stories. I’m from New Zealand and travelling with my two twenty-something “kids”. We all absolutely loved the tour and would totally recommend it. We do bike tours in every big city we visit & this was truly one of the best.”

If you’re looking for a bicycle tour agency that favors small group tours, then Cycle City Tours and Bike Rentals is your answer. Since we didn’t want our tours to feel rushed, this setup is ideal for ensuring everyone maintains their pace.
It’s also an ideal setup if you wish to bike around the city with kids in tow. And if you’re a beginner in city biking, we recommend choosing the Stanley Park route or the Seawall route first, as these routes are relatively easier and less busy compared to the others.
What we love about this bicycle tour agency is that they don’t just focus on the iconic landmarks. We were able to see some alleyways and the quiet streets around Vancouver too.
You also have the option to rent out the bikes, perfect if you prefer to explore the city at your own pace. Search for DIY tour routes online to familiarize yourself with the iconic spots to visit.
Lastly, we find it easy to book a bike tour or a bike rental online. Simply select the tour you want, choose the bike height, and then pick a date and time.

“We had a brilliant ride around Vancouver with cycle city tours. We had around 24 hours in the city and wanted to ensure that we saw as much as possible and this tour helped us do just that. Zack was a fantastic guide. Giving us lots of information at each stop, answered questions well, showing that he had a level of knowledge beyond what he was sharing, which I liked as it felt like he hadn’t just learned to recite the tour. He also gave guidance and instructions before each segment, ensuring that we were safe and knew what we were doing.”
– Lee Burns, Google Review
Straightforward rental process
“Great location in downtown Vancouver. The rental process was straightforward and the staff were very helpful. They were thorough and patient in showing us newbies how to operate the e-bikes. The bikes are sturdy, comfortable, and had no oroblems. Everyone seemed knowledgeable and genuinely friendly. I highly recommend Cycle City Bike Rentals.”

One of the budget-friendly bicycle tour agencies we found around Vancouver is Toonie Tours. Aside from bike tours, this agency also offers walking tours and scooter tours, allowing you to make arrangements for your entire stay in Vancouver.
What’s great about them is that they prefer small group tours, making it a perfect way to cruise around the city without feeling overwhelmed by the energy of a big group.
We also appreciate that Daniel, our tour guide, was very accommodating during the bike tour. He even adjusted the tour to suit our group’s pace and interests, skipping the other landmarks we had seen before.
Daniel can also serve as your personal photographer. While he’s not a pro, he knows the perfect spots and angles, so you can expect him to take beautiful photos during your entire trip.
And here’s a pro tip: allow him to hold a camera or a phone so he can capture some behind-the-scenes while pedaling around the city.
However, we noticed that the tour duration is a bit short. This could work for families with young children. But if you have a lot of energy to spend, you’d hope for a longer duration instead.
Pros
- Budget-friendly
- Offers walking tours
- Tour guide takes great photos
Cons
- Tour duration may seem short
- Limited tour routes
Prioritizes small groups
“Cannot recommend the bike tour of Stanley Park highly enough. I had a fantastic tour with Daniel as our guide this morning. Plenty of local knowledge and insider tips too. Loved the small group and conversational vibe. Truly an excellent experience. A great option for solo travellers as well as couples.”

Tour guide exerts great energy
“I had an incredible experience on my bike tour in Vancouver with Alexis! 🌟 He was not only extremely knowledgeable about the city’s history, culture, and hidden gems, but also brought the best energy to the entire ride. Alexis made the tour engaging, fun, and full of interesting stories you wouldn’t find in a guidebook. His enthusiasm was contagious, and he made sure everyone felt comfortable and included. The perfect mix of sightseeing, learning, and laughter—I can’t recommend this tour (and Alexis!) enough!”

This bicycle tour agency takes bike maintenance seriously too, which we commend. Before you even ride it, they will meticulously check if you’re comfortable riding it, especially that you’ll be on it for an entire day.
For more challenging routes, you can expect the tour guides to conduct frequent briefings, especially in areas where you need to be cautious while riding the bike.
Meanwhile, we love that they offer an inclusive one-day tour where they can take you around the dyke trail system in Pitt Meadows, the Lochside Trail, or even visit the De Vine Vineyards for a wine tasting experience.

“Unforgettable 5-Day E-Bike Trip in the Okanagan!
Just finished an incredible e-bike tour through the Okanagan Valley, including the famous Myra Canyon trestles. Our guides, Paul and Arman, were amazing—organized, fun, and focused on safety. We were provided with high-quality e-bikes, snacks, and three great meals a day. The group was transported in a clean, comfortable Mercedes van, and there were fun extras like swimming, bowling, and a river float. The scenery was stunning, and the group dynamic was so positive and inclusive. Highly recommend this trip if you’re looking for a scenic, active, and well-supported way to explore the Okanagan!”

Great food recommendations
“Our 6 hour hike/bike and lunch tour was terrific! Our tour guide Arman was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and great at taking pictures for us. He picked us up at our hotel on time in the Mercedes sprint van which holds 12 people and 13 bicycles. They provided helmets and bottled waters for us. Lunch was at a wonderful family owned farm to table restaurant called Hopcott Farms in Pitt Meadows, BC. We really got our moneys worth and would rate this eleven out of ten! They do all kinds of tours, and the owner is great too! Seriously, this was an incredible tour and I learned a lot about trees, mycelium, nurse trees, and so much more!”

We love that there are several trips that cater to everyone’s preferences as well. If you’re a small group, you can either join group tours or avail a private tour if you want to enjoy it at your own pace.
Even better, you can customize your tours with BikeHike if you want to skip a few sites on their usual route. And on the day itself, we love that these guys are also willing to accommodate further adjustments for our group.

The BikeHike team always hires very awesome and knowledgeable local guides, and they plan a great mix of physical activities and cultural experiences that represent the best of what each destination has to offer. Trish and Meg with the team are quick to respond, helpful, and guide you through every step of the way to make sure you have a fantastic, memorable trip. Highly recommend!”

Well-organized trips
“I’ve traveled with BikeHike Adventures four times and I’m planning my next trip now! I traveled to Macedonia this year and had the best time with the people on my trip. We had a local guide who shared his favorite mountain biking trails and hiking spots along with a vast amount of historical and cultural information. The trip also included several opportunities to experience the culture of Macedonia in locally owned restaurants and hotels where we met the owners and enjoyed meals and shared food, music and stories. The trips are always well-organized with balanced between being on the go and having time to explore and relax on your own. The guides, activities and the accommodations are tailored for safe yet challenging adventures. I appreciate the attention to finding parks and trails that are off the beaten path and full of spectacular scenery. I have traveled independently for many years but now I prefer to visit new places with BikeHike because they’ve done the advance work for me. I don’t have to find the trails, hotels or restaurants on my own and hope things work out. I get to really relax and soak in the experience. Looking forward to the next trip!”
