My friends and I figured cycling would be a better option after we got tired of forcing ourselves to go to the gym every week. It seemed more fun, too!
After a few months, we started to see the downsides. Noah kept complaining about his gears slipping mid-ride, and I learned the hard way that a badly fitted bike can leave your shoulders and wrists aching for days after.
After dealing with repairs, confusing prices, and some unhelpful shops, we finally put together a list of the best bike shops in Vancouver. These are the places locals really trust.
And once your bikes are finally tuned properly, it’s way easier to enjoy some of the best bike routes in Vancouver without worrying about problems halfway through the ride!
How much do bike services cost in Vancouver?
In Vancouver, bike service prices depend on the type of work and the bike’s condition.
• Basic tune-ups: $60 – $80 (covers gear adjustments, brake checks, and minor tightening)
• More complete tune-ups or standard servicing: $90 – $140 (includes deeper cleaning and full system checks)
• Major overhauls or replacing worn parts: $150 – $220, depending on labor and components
E-bike servicing or specialized repairs can cost slightly more due to additional diagnostics and system handling.
1. Cycle City Bike Shops & Repairs

Address: 646 Hornby St
Phone: (604) 618-8626
Business hours: Monday to Sunday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
When we need a bike back on the road, Cycle City is usually our first stop because of how they handle turnaround times.
Most shops can take a week just for a simple shift adjustment. Here, they often sort out common hub or brake issues within less than 24 hours, which really helps when we’re trying to stay on schedule.
We also like that they don’t push a strict appointment system for every small repair. As a result, it makes things a lot easier for commuters who just need to get home without dealing with a grinding drivetrain.
What stands out most is the depth of their technical workshop. The technicians don’t just stick to one specialty. In fact, they’re just as comfortable bleeding hydraulic brakes on a mountain bike as they are troubleshooting more complex e-bike systems.
Since they also manage a rental fleet and run tours, they’re constantly dealing with bikes that see heavy daily use. Because of that, that kind of hands-on experience shows up in how they diagnose issues.
The downtown location is another big plus for quick drop-ins.
That said, service prices here can be a bit higher compared to smaller suburban shops. However, the efficiency and turnaround speed make it feel worth it.
Friendly and knowledgeable bike shop
“This store is gem. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Very accommodating with test rides. Shout out to Connor, Liam and Corey who helped me find my new bike, gave me tons of information and did an excellent setup and service on it.”

Reliable bike repair service
“As a local Vancouver road cyclist who has inevitably found myself with random mid ride bike issues, I have been consistently impressed and appreciative of the service I have received at the Cycle City shop. The staff are kind and accommodating, service is prompt, and prices are incredibly reasonable. Thanks Cycle City!”

2. Simon’s Bike Shop

Address: 345 Robson St, Unit 203
Phone: (604) 602-1181
Business hours:
- Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Saturday to Sunday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Simon’s Bike Shop sits right on Robson Street. We think this is a great spot for anyone who values transparency above everything else.
Before they even touch your bike, the mechanics provide a free estimate with no hidden pressure. We really like this because it prevents that awkward moment when the bill is higher than you expected.
Their technicians are professionally trained and handle a huge variety of builds. This includes everything from standard hybrid bikes to those complex hub-driven e-bike systems.
What we especially appreciate is their ability to handle a quick wheel truing or brake tuning on the fly. They often finish these common repairs faster than expected, which is a big help if you’re only in the downtown area for a few hours.
They also offer rentals and provide actual riding maps for the city. It shows they understand the practical side of cycling in Vancouver.
Being in such a busy area does have a trade-off. The high foot traffic means you might hit a bit of a wait during peak season. We don’t mind much since the diagnostics are so fast.
Honest and helpful service
“this place was amazing was recommended me to me by a friend so I took my bike down cause I had some issues and everybody was telling me I was gonna have to spend money on a chain spend money on a new sprocket thing or I was gonna have to redo this for that of this it’s gonna be so expensive, but I went down there and literally it was a nut that needed to be tightened and he did so for free wouldn’t let me pay him for tightening it and figuring that out but just all in all great experience would recommend definitely will go there again in the future absolutely worth it. Great store looks like a great selection and Simon had a great sense of humor.. lols 100% would recommend!!!!”

Strong product selection, competitive pricing
“Simon’s shop was able to find us a great deal for 2 new bikes. I definitely recommend the place, since they have a great assortment and prices. They also offer a 25% 5 year discount on gear if you buy a bike at Simon’s. Simon can be a little snappy, but he is a great person and I trust his advice and recommendations. Dave was also great at answering questions and helping out. They have a lot of gear, go check it out.”

3. Atomic Bike Shop

Address: 1555 W 6th Ave
Phone: (604) 714-0158
Business hours:
- Monday: 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Tuesday to Friday: 10:30 AM – 6:00 PM
- Saturday: 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Atomic Bike Shop is where we head when we want a direct line to the person actually turning the wrenches.
Since it’s a smaller operation, we usually get to speak one-on-one with Steve. He’s an owner-mechanic with years of experience working on road bikes and e-bikes.
What stands out is how quickly he can pinpoint issues like gear slips or brake rubs without a long diagnostic process. On top of that, he often sorts out small fixes on the spot.
That kind of immediate attention is something we don’t usually get in larger shops, where bikes tend to sit in a queue first.
What we especially appreciate, though, is the range of custom work he takes on. The workshop isn’t just for basic tune-ups. Steve also handles wheel builds, drivetrain installs, and more detailed bike customizations with solid precision.
Pricing is another thing that feels reasonable here. Estimates are laid out clearly, so there’s no guesswork, and the overall cost tends to feel fair given the level of service.
However, it’s still essentially a one-mechanic setup. Even if the turnaround is quick, capacity can naturally get tight during peak riding season, so timing your visit can make a difference.
Friendly and trustworthy service
“Steve is kind, friendly, polite, honest and also an absolute bike expert. I went there to get my brakes fixed because there were completely worn out, and not only got it fixed but made a friend. I’m definitely coming back and recommend this shop 100%.”
- Sophia Cury, Google Review
Reliable and knowledgeable service
“I brought my bike to Steve at Atomic Bike after the rear wheel went flat shortly after being “fixed” at another shop. Unlike the first place, Steve quickly identified the actual cause of the issue and fixed it on the spot. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and made it a genuinely positive experience. I’d definitely recommend Atomic Bike to anyone needing bike repairs!”

4. Bici

Address: 1497 Adanac St
Phone: (778) 719-3080
Business hours:
- Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Saturday to Sunday: 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM
We look at Bici as a technical hub for anyone getting into road and gravel riding.
The specialists here aren’t just mechanics. They’re more like performance tuners for endurance builds and race setups. We really like that they handle full drivetrain rebuilds with a level of precision you won’t usually find at a general repair shop.
They also offer biker fittings, which is a big help for those of us dealing with sore wrists after longer rides.
We especially appreciate that they’ve created a one-stop setup for both men and women riders. While your bike is on the stand for something like wheel truing, you can also browse high-end gear and nutrition essentials.
They stock trusted names like SRAM and Fizik, along with their own line of functional lifestyle gear. We think this makes it easier to build a cohesive setup without needing to hop between multiple shops.
The only real drawback is that the shop is quite brand-focused. That can feel a bit intimidating if you’re a beginner just looking for a simple fix. Still, we’d recommend leaning on their expertise when you’re ready to explore parts upgrades.
Expert and attentive service with detailed guidance
“Sean and the team at Bici are truly amazing. I wanted to upgrade my current road bike and was interested in the Factor Monza. After speaking with Sean, he gave me the 411 on comparables and his thoughts on what would be suitable for my interests and intended use. I settled on the Monza. Sean made sure the bike was diligently inspected and was the proper fit. I came in with my road gear and Sean went through making comprehensive micro adjustments on the bike to ensure I would get full enjoyment out of the machine. Sean went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with the purchase. A week in and I am obsessed with this bike. Thank you Sean and the BICI team!”

Proactive communication, knowledgeable support
“Great experience start to finish. Recently purchased a Cannondale Topstone, and received a personal email from Josh within minutes of placing the order. He updated me at every step of the delivery and assembly process, and got me fitted properly when I went to pick it up. Really appreciate the knowledgeable and friendly team at Bicicletta. Making such a purchase can be a big decision for a lot of people (myself included), and the customer service and support I received made the whole experience so rewarding. The bike is awesome too, of course.”

5. Bicycle Sports Pacific

Address: 999 Pacific St
Phone: (604) 682-4537
Business hours: Sunday to Saturday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Bicycle Sports Pacific is a heavy hitter in the local scene with three locations and a history dating back to 1989.
We appreciate the sheer scale of their inventory because it covers everything from kids’ bikes to high-end Trek and Cannondale models. Their service department is massive and stays busy with everything from basic tune-ups to advanced parts installations.
What we like most, though, is their focus on rider education. They host clinics for flat fixes and basic maintenance, which is a huge help for those of us who’d rather learn small repairs ourselves instead of heading to a shop every single time something comes up.
Their technicians also do a solid job when it comes to performance upgrades. They offer dedicated bike fitting and setup guidance to help improve comfort on longer rides, especially if you’ve been dealing with soreness or awkward positioning on the bike.
The selection of apparel and tools is equally deep, too. It’s basically a one-stop shop where you can grab a helmet, shoes, and accessories while your bike’s already in for service.
Just a heads up: since it’s a larger retailer, the experience can feel a bit more transactional at times. You won’t always get that same-day personal chat you’d probably find in a smaller workshop.
Efficient and friendly service
“The help that my husband and I received from Maks, Carlos and one other person (sorry I forgot his name!) was incredible. Thanks for helping us get back on our bicycles in record time and the price was right too!”
- Ana Catherina Ramirez, Google Review
Patient and accommodating customer support
“Best customer service! I called a couple of bike shops in the downtown/Yaletown area for a minor repair (I’m a newbie), the other shops did not bother to explain and were quick to dismiss the call. Bicycle Sports Pacific was very patient and accommodating. Juan made the repair for me and even checked my bike alignment. Thanks again! Would definitely recommend.”
