We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

When it was time to find the best cat groomers in Vancouver for my fluffy friend, I did the most logical thing – consult fellow cat lovers.

But thanks to this decision, I think I summoned every cat owner in the city! Dozens reached out to offer their recommendations and experiences. The pet parent grapevine is strong (and a bit overwhelming), my friends.

After numerous chats and several detailed notes, I compiled this: a list of the best cat groomers in Vancouver. Here’s how they stack up!

How Much Do Cat Groomers Charge  in Vancouver?

The average hourly rate for hiring cat groomers in Vancouver is $17.00. However, the cost of cat grooming varies greatly based on the services you choose. Some groomers may charge extra for services such as nail trimming, ear cleaning, or dematting.

How we chose the Best Cat Groomers in Vancouver

Variety of Services: we evaluated the range of services provided, from basic grooming to specialized treatments.
Experience and Expertise: we looked at the groomers’ experience and expertise in handling different breeds and grooming needs.
Qualifications and Certifications: We verified the qualifications and certifications of the groomers to ensure they meet industry standards.
Pet Owner Recommendations: we reached out to cat owners in the Vancouver area for their personal experiences and trusted recommendations.
Trial Visits: we conducted trial visits to some of the groomers to personally experience the services and observe their interaction with cats.

BUSINESS HOURSTuesday: 8am to 6pm

Wednesday: 10am to 4pm

Thursday to Saturday: 9am to 5pm

Since 2019, Woof & Meow Spa has provided cat and dog grooming services. But it’s not just dogs and cats, this shop also grooms other beloved pets like rabbits and guinea pigs.

One of our favorite things about this grooming shop is that they’re conveniently located in the middle of the city. It’s just right along Nanaimo, so it’s hard to miss them.

Looking at their grooming services, you’ve got the basics like nail trims, ear cleaning, dematting, and spot shaving. But there’s one thing that caught our attention: waterless bath and brush.

We liked this service as it’s a great option for cats who are not stoked about water baths. What’s good is that this service also includes nail trimming.

Now, we’re not so thrilled to know that cat appointments are only available on Wednesdays. We also didn’t like that they don’t have fixed prices, as pricing would depend on a number of factors: size, coat length, coat condition, and temperament.

Nevertheless, we were happy to see their “Nagayu Treatment” treatment. This treatment decomposes body fluid and cleans better than water. So it’s good to have this option.

Pros

  • Convenient shop location
  • Offers a variety of services

Cons

  • Cat appointments available on Wednesdays

BUSINESS HOURSTuesday to Friday: 7:30am to 6pm

Saturday: 9am to 5:30pm

Located in Cambie Village, Pet Parlour has been a staple in the area, having been in business for almost 10 years. They’re pet lovers themselves, having started the business after taking a full-time grooming course.

Here, you get to choose between four options: full grooming, shave down, bath & tidy, and a la carte services for those who only need a specific service like nail trimming or ear cleaning.

What we liked best about this shop is that, apart from their cat grooming services, they also have a wide selection and variety of grooming products like shampoos, conditioners, and brushes available for purchase online.

Sure, they don’t have any special services, but they do have a daycare service where they’re fed, trained, and supervised during play.

And with that, we highly recommend Pet Parlour to anyone looking to have their cats groomed. They offer all the basic grooming services alongside products and a daycare service.

Pros

  • Wide selection and variety of grooming products
  • Offers a la carte grooming services
  • Has a pet daycare service

Cons

  • Not a lot of service variety

We have no doubt about Lil’ Hobos. How could we when their groomers are Certified Canadian pet stylist groomers by the National Groomer Association of Canada?

Grooming services here at Lil’ Hobos always come with a free consultation, which we appreciated. During this consultation, you will get a fixed price for the grooming service you’re planning to get.

We’re also impressed to see that their full-groom service includes an extensive bath, hair trim and styling, deshedding, nail trim, anal gland expression, and teeth brushing.

We liked how comprehensive this package is, as it ensures that our pet will receive all the necessary grooming treatments in one session.

Additionally, Lil’ Hobos offers add-on services such as flea and tick treatments, tummy tunnel services, and anesthetic-free dental scaling.

Overall, we recommend Lil’ Hobos for their thorough grooming services and additional options like flea and tick treatments.

BUSINESS HOURSMonday to Thursday: 10am to 6pm

As a cat mom to Archie and Maggie, the owner of Salon Kitty, Cheryl, knows firsthand how to groom cats. She’s a certified cat and dog groomer and has been trained in a variety of feline breeds and coats.

What makes her more reliable is that she has a Pet First Aid certification with Walks and Wags and CPR/AED with the Canadian Red Cross. That said, we think it’s safe to say that we’d trust our cats in her hands for any grooming needs they may have.

Another awesome thing that we liked is that Cheryl is actually one of the few mobile cat groomers in Vancouver. Yep, she bikes from home to home, so your furry friend won’t have to experience the stress of traveling to a salon.

However, if your little kitty is matted and/or difficult to handle, you’ll be charged an additional $60 on top of the base price of the service you’re getting.

Despite that, we were glad to see how transparent Cheryl is with her grooming prices. Plus, her full grooming services include everything from nail trim, ear, eye, and facial cleaning to a bath, blow dry, and a full brush.

Pros

  • Has a Pet First Aid certification and CPR/AED
  • Mobile cat grooming services
  • Transparent pricing

Cons

  • Additional $60 if cat is matted, aggressive /difficult to handle

Always makes my cat fabulous

“Cheryl has been grooming our kitty for a few years now, and while there is sometimes a bit of drama (from the cat, not Cheryl) she always looks fabulous afterward…”

-Mr. Craig, Google Reviews

Fast and great service

“Cheryl did Milo so well she was in and out within an hour and my matted cat looked so beautiful after she was done…”

BUSINESS HOURSTuesday to Friday: 8:30am to 5pm

Saturday: 9am to 5pm

For over 15 years, Paw Prints in Kitsilano has provided quite an impressive full grooming service for cats and dogs. From baths to grooming to walk-in nail trims, A great perk is that your furry friend gets free coat conditioning on their first visit here!

Paw Prints has two grooming packages: Lion Cuts and Bath and Brush Out. Now, these two services come in two varieties, where you get to pick if you’d like your cat to be bathed or not.

Inside, the walls are a vibrant yellow, and the overall decor of Paw Prints is just lovely. You’ve got paw print designed curtains, colorful pet-themed artwork, and cozy seating for pet owners to relax while they wait for their furry friends to be pampered.

We’re just a bit iffy about the fact that, despite having an online booking system, you would need to book an appointment for your kitties over the phone.

Even so, we liked that they can tailor a grooming package specifically for your cat’s needs and preferences, ensuring a personalized experience for your furry friend.

And, that’s about it. We definitely recommend Paw Prints for anyone looking for a pet grooming salon that goes the extra mile to make your cat feel comfortable and cared for.

Pros

  • 15 years in business
  • Well-decorated grooming shop

Cons

  • Bookings required over the phone

Marvelous same-day service

“A marvelous crew and same day service. They shaved Mats of the cats rump and clipped the paw nails…”

-Mr. Flasch, Google Reviews

Organized and impressive service

“Took my cat here for her first grooming service and everything was so organized. She was well taken care of and we extremely impressed with the job. I will be coming back!”
