Founded in 2014, Thrive Counselling Centre was started by Dace Mars and Carson Kivari with the help of their mentors. They aim to provide a safe space for clients to be their most authentic selves.
What sets them apart is that their therapy models are based on the integration of body, mind, and emotion instead of focusing on just one.
We think this approach helps people gain a better understanding of themselves and their relationships, as well as experience healing on a deeper level.
Perhaps what we liked most about this clinic is that they offer low-cost counseling options. This is because they’re a practicum site for Master’s students currently enrolled in counseling programs.
These counselors work under the supervision of more experienced clinicians and can offer very cheap sessions.
It’s also beneficial that almost all of their counselors are covered under most extended health plans. However, we advise you to call your insurance company first to make sure your plan covers counseling.
Unfortunately, they’re closed on weekends, which we think limits their availability. We also wish they had more clinics to make their services more accessible.
Overall, if you’re looking for one of the best counseling services in Vancouver, we highly recommend Thrive Counselling Centre.
Pros
- Uses integrated therapy models
- Offers low-cost counseling options
- Counselors covered under most Extended Health Plans
Cons
- Closed on weekends
- Only one clinic location

This clinic employs registered clinical counselors with master’s degrees who provide treatments supported by scientific research. According to us, this demonstrates the effectiveness of their services.
Additionally, we value the fact that they have two office locations in Vancouver, as we believe this enables them to serve a larger customer base.
We found it particularly impressive that they offer a vast array of counseling services, including psychotherapy, EDMR, psychedelic integration, and many others.
But what we liked most was that they have special counseling for teenagers because they know this can be a hard and confusing time.
