How Much Does Newborn and Baby PhotographyCost in Vancouver?

How we chose the Best Newborn and Baby Photography in Vancouver
1. Kim Forrester Photography

Founded by moms, Kim Forrester Photography definitely gets it. They’re all experienced photographers, familiar with capturing little ones in their most candid and precious moments.
Their photographers, Kim and Dani, have 14 years of experience photographing newborns and children. Kim has even captured 1,000 babies at BC Women’s Hospital, home to Canada’s largest maternity ward.
What’s good is that they offer a mobile studio, so you won’t have to worry about traveling with your newborn to have them take their photos. But, hey, if you’re up for it, you can also book their natural light studio.
Looking at their portfolio, we immediately saw that they go for an intimate and minimalist style, focusing on the purity and innocence of each child. It’s quite endearing to see.
Plus, we think it’s awesome that they set up a virtual viewing with their clients so they can show the digital proofs first before sending out the physical prints.
Sure, they’re a bit pricey, but their newborn photography services include hair and makeup, client closet access, fine art printing, custom wall art, and album design. We think these perks make the price tag worth it.
Five-star service
“If I could give Kim more than 5 stars, I would!! It’s hard to express in words how amazing Kim and her team was…”
-Ms. Parenteau, Google Reviews
Seamless experience
“Kim was amazing to work with! After giving birth she was very understanding of our schedule as first time parents and made the whole photography experience seamless…”
-Ms. Inzunza, Google Reviews
2. JaNa Photography

Photographers at JaNa Photography, Nasim and Jafar Edrisi, are certified portrait photographers with advanced training in professional studio lighting. But when it comes to newborn photography, they definitely know their way around.
For starters, they’re recipients of many accolades for their baby photography from the International Baby Photography Contest, Three Best Rated, and many more.
Sure, they don’t have a mobile studio, which means you really have to travel to their office to have your newborns’ photos taken, but here’s some good news: props.
JaNa Photography carries a diverse selection of props in neutral colors that keep the focus of the photograph on your baby. We also loved that they use a reflective lighting system, so your baby’s eyes are safe from harsh lighting.
From what we’ve seen, they really know how to add props that won’t overshadow your baby’s adorable features. Sure, they use colorful props like floral headbands and textured blankets, but the focus is really on your baby.
Their services also span from Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster, Richmond, Coquitlam, and even all the way to Whistler!
Highly recommendable
“I highly recommend! This studio was amazing to work with. They made our newborn, 2yr old and senior French bulldog all feel at home and at ease….”
-Ms. Gosselin, Google Reviews
Comfortable to work with
” the team made us to feel comfortable from the moment we arrived and things went very smoothly – she guided us through the session very well…”
-Ms. Ozanit, Google Reviews
3. Amber Theresa Photography

Amber, a portrait photographer, carries over 20 years of experience in high end portrait retouching and graphic design. She specializes in creative maternity and newborn photography and is all about colorful and dramatic photos.
First off, she’s quite an experienced photographer. Her work has been featured in many books and publications, like Shutter Up and Elizabeth Pantley, and she’s accredited by the Professional Photographers of Canada.
To add to that, Amber is also accredited by the Newborn Photography Accreditation. If that doesn’t reassure you that she knows what she’s doing, we don’t know what will.
Now, on to her work! Through our lens (eyes), Amber’s style is nothing short of grand. She creates these gorgeous, custom styled setups that are eye-catching.
It’s also nice to see how customizable her photography sessions are. Clients get to pick from her boutique collection of outfits, wraps, hats, headbands, backdrops, and props.
Amber also set up a convenient online booking system, so it’s easy to schedule a session with her.
Overall, Amber’s extensive experience and qualifications, backed up with her stunning portfolio and customizable options, make her one of the best newborn and baby photographers in Vancouver.
Professional and easy to work with

4. Rachel Yoon Photography

Rachel Yoon exclusively offers newborn, maternity, and baby photography. She has over 10 years of experience working with families, and we loved that she also offers cake smash photography.
But what really caught our attention was her photography studio. Apart from the usual props and accessories, Rachel also has a dedicated play area in her studio in case your older children are coming with them.
It’s also amazing to know that she has a track record of photographing over 3,000 newborns. That’s a lot. To us, it’s reassuring as it shows she has a wealth of experience and expertise in capturing newborn photos.
What’s even better is that you can expect to see online copies of your photos in just a couple of days! However, it does take at least 3 to 4 weeks for the final prints to come.
Despite that, we liked their “My Baby’s First Year Bundle.” This storybook is a 90-page story-like journal that’s both gender neutral and full of beautiful photos of your baby’s first year until the age of five.
All in all, we highly recommend this photographer for any parents looking to capture precious moments of their newborns in a professional and creative way.
Consistent good service
“A perfect 5 stars for Rachel and her team! This is our second time having Rachel photograph our kids (both for newborn photos) and the experience each time was phenomenal…”
-Ms. Rances, Google Reviews
Knows how to make fun shots
“We went to Rachel for our maternity shot and she was amazing. She is great to work With, she knows how to make a shot fun, easy and very efficient…”
-Ms. Eshghl, Google Reviews
5. Eva Photography

Eva is a family and newborn mobile photographer with a penchant for earthy tones. We’re serious; we’ve seen the photos, and they’re all in earthy, organic tones, which is something we adore.
First things first, the newborn photography packages. You get to choose between three sessions here: 30 images, 80 images + an online gallery, and a 2-hour session with outfits, wraps, posing a baby, and a family session.
This variety is what we love to see, as it allows clients to choose a package that best fits their needs and preferences. However, since they’re mobile, a $50 travel fee is required for those outside of Vancouver.
What’s more is that you can opt for a “Signature Art-Wrapped Canvas” for your photos. This service includes a hand-stretched canvas on solid wood stretchers using real pigment inks for your images.
In addition to that, they also have a “Portrait Series,” where you can pick out nine images from your session, which will be professionally retouched and printed on archival paper.
This option, in our opinion, provides a beautiful way to display a variety of poses and expressions from your session.
To conclude, this photography service offers a range of high-quality products to showcase your images in a unique and personalized way.
