Immerse Yourself in Vibrant Colors at the Tulip Festival at Chilliwack

Dates: April 12 through May 12

If you’re heading to the Chilliwack Tulip Festival—also known as Botanica—you’re in for a colorful treat! Picture this: 1.5 million tulip bulbs in full bloom, just waiting to be admired. 

Pro tip: aim for the High Bloom season at the tail end of April, when the fields are at their most vibrant. So, here’s the dig, since this is a pretty huge field, you are bound to find yourself exhausted and even thirsty.

Well, there’s a cozy shop offering coffee, hot chocolate, tea, and even Belgian cookies. Plus, you can grab cut or potted tulips to bring a bit of the festival home. 

Facilities like portable toilets and hand-washing stations are conveniently located by the parking lot.

Don’t forget your camera! This place is a photographer’s dream, with benches nestled in the fields, quirky tulip statues, vintage bicycles, swings, and even flower-filled rubber boots providing endless photo ops. 

If you’re feeling inspired, stop by the tent to purchase a bouquet or two. And if hunger strikes, food trucks are just a stroll away—ready to serve up something delicious.

Wander through Fields of Blossoms at the Abbotsford Tulip Festival

Dates: April 14 to May 14

The Abbotsford Tulip Festival is your perfect chance to capture the natural beauty of the Upper Fraser Valley in all its colorful glory. Imagine strolling through vibrant fields of flowers, where the bright stripes of tulips practically beg for a photo. 

You must take a moment to wander through the fragrant Hyacinth rows, their scent filling the air, or admire the playful fairy doors scattered among the daffodils. 

As you approach the tulip fields, a tall grass hedge and tents might make you wonder if you’re in the right spot, but don’t fret—the tulip fields are just a scenic 1 km walk away.

Once you reach the sea of blooms, you’ll be greeted by an array of tulip varieties, each more beautiful than the last, with endless photo opportunities around the edges of the field. 

For an extra special experience, you can even enter a smaller tulip garden near the entrance, where for just $1, you can pick your very own flowers right from the center.

Capture Stunning Photos at the Harrison Tulip Festival

Launched in 2006, the Harrison Tulip Festival was the trailblazer of its kind in the Fraser Valley, and it’s still going strong! While tulips take center stage, this festival has more in store—think fruit trees, nut trees, and other stunning blooms to admire.

Dubbed “the most colorful spring celebration in the province,” this festival offers 35 acres of vibrant beauty, with an impressive 10 million bulbs planted. 

You’ll find over 50 tulip varieties, 15 kinds of double daffodils, and a dozen different hyacinths—all ready to dazzle you. Plus, there’s no shortage of whimsical props and settings to make your photos pop.

If you’re feeling inspired, head over to the designated flower-picking area, where you can grab tulips for just $1 per stem or splurge on a $25 bucket and fill it to your heart’s content!
