They also have a 1-year warranty on their parts and labour, assuring clients that if something breaks, this company can replace the parts free of charge.

Aside from those, they have experience dealing with a fair number of brands. We’ve found testimonials attesting to their employees successfully repairing units from manufacturers ranging from Sub-Zero to Smeg.

However, this company isn’t accredited by the Better Business Bureau. We often check for this as BBB accreditation means that a company takes complaints seriously and can fix them when needed.

Another thing is that they don’t typically keep replacements for relay OLP sets in stock. It might take a while before this company can fix your refrigerator if that’s what your unit needs, since they’ll need to source that part first.

Another thing that makes this company great is that they are BBB accredited. For us, that’s a good way to show commitment to customer service, and most of the people we talked to who’ve worked with them confirmed that they have that.

That being said, we do think this company still has some minor drawbacks.

Pete’s Appliance Repair advertises friendly customer service and their quality service. We checked them out to see if their ads were true… and they were, for the most part.

One of the first things we noticed was that when you call, technicians answer, not office staff. This is especially helpful when you don’t have the time to wait until they visit you to diagnose the problem with your refrigerator.

They also have genuine parts from most manufacturers and best of all, don’t mark up the prices. And yes, you get the part numbers too in your invoice, so you know that these are the original parts.

So why did we say “for the most part” earlier? Well, because availability is still one of our standards when judging repair services like these.

Fridges are pretty much crucial to most households nowadays. The longer a fridge is out of commission, the more food could be wasted and the greater the hassle.

And unfortunately, Pete’s Appliance Repair is only open from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Decent hours for most offices, sure, but that means they don’t do emergency repairs.

Add the fact that they’re closed on Sundays and that means there’s a significant amount of time when they’re not available.

However, if your problem with the refrigerator isn’t an emergency and you can wait, the services from this Vancouver-based company are still top-notch. Hence, they still made our list of the best Vancouver fridge technicians.

This company has been in the business since 1993. Based on our survey, they are one of the most trusted fridge repair technicians in the Vancouver area.

The first thing worth noting is that they have been BBB accredited for 15 years. Based on that, it’s no surprise that their customers told us this company tries to solve complaints as much as possible.

Aside from that, their policies are very customer-friendly. In fact, we even noticed during our service call that they don’t upsell repairs or push for them if they feel they might be unwise.

What’s more, we learned that they don’t charge for extra travel time if there’s a need to pick up and deliver appliance parts. That’s great, as some other companies do and that can quickly drive up costs.

Andy’s Appliance and Refrigeration also provides a warranty. 90-days for electrical parts, 1 year for mechanical parts, which we think isn’t too shabby.

It’s probably worth mentioning that they don’t seem to work with too many refrigerator brands, though. For example, SMEG is not one of the brands whose units they can fix.

Another thing is that they only accept cash and cheque. Bit outdated, we think, as more and more shops are offering more varied payment options now, including credit cards.

For us though, the pros outweigh the cons for this company as they really do provide excellent service.

This is another pretty well-established business. The technicians of this Vancouver-based appliance repair shop have 10 years of experience repairing major North American brands.

Aside from that, this company is transparent about its estimation price, which we like. That price is also deducted from the repair fees (another good thing, in our opinion!).

They also allow weekend and evening appointments. However, if you’re scheduling on the weekend, note that you’ll need to schedule those appointments early as they have relatively short operating hours then.

Of course, that’s still better than not being available on weekends at all. And to be fair to them, their weekend services run from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm, which is respectable (though still not the same as having emergency services).

We did have some issues with their online presence, by the way. Their website isn’t terribly polished, for one thing, and could even drive away some customers.

Moreover, this company doesn’t have an online messaging form where you can message them easily. You will need to either call or email them first instead of just submitting a form.

In our experience and from what others have told us, the fastest way to get a response from them is to call them. You may run into a minor communication issue depending on whom you get (our tech had something like a Slavic accent), but we found it fairly easy to understand after a moment or two.
