As you stroll through different rooms, you’ll meet colorful fish and playful sea turtles, all in habitats that mimic their natural environments. You’ll even get the chance to touch some cool ocean creatures (don’t worry, they’re not alive!).
You can feel the teeth of a shark, the squishy texture of jellyfish, or the prickly surface of a sea urchin. It’s easy to see why everyone says this is the best aquarium in North America.

For example, in The Mystery at the Majestic Theatre, your mission is to recover a hidden relic, while The Curse of Madam Zita’s Curiosities challenges you to unravel the secrets behind a spooky curse.

Secure lockers are available for your belongings during the game, but note that restrooms are only in the food court, not inside the venue.

Science World is a fantastic destination where science truly comes to life for visitors of all ages. With its interactive games and engaging learning centers, it’s an excellent spot for adults to brush up on the basics of science, too.
It’s a must-do for families, as kids will have a blast learning through hands-on activities. The shows are entertaining and often allow for audience participation, making for a fun-filled day.
While discounted tickets are available after 5 PM, three hours just isn’t enough to soak in everything this place has to offer. Starting early and spending the whole day exploring is definitely the best way to experience all the exciting activities!
Pro tip:
Parking is very limited with only about 50 spots. Nearby underground parking is available though for $18 for 3 hours or $24 for the day.
Enjoy Nature at the Bloedel Conservatory

The Hive combines a climbing gym, training facility, and fitness center all in one. This expansive space caters to climbers of all levels, offering bouldering courses, youth camps, and various events.
It’s an excellent place to climb, with a wide variety of routes and wall features to keep things exciting. While the grading system might be a little inconsistent, it’s perfect for climbers who just want to focus on the fun of climbing without stressing over specific V grades.
There’s also a great upstairs area equipped with weights, mats, and hangboards. The routes use a unique hex system, with a 1-6 difficulty rating that adds an interesting twist to the challenges.
Pro tip:
The gym is usually crowded with locals, and access is only available through advance booking. I recommend reserving your spot through the online portal.
Unwind with a Spa Day at Chi, the Spa at Shangri-la

This charming little museum offers a fascinating glimpse into Canadian maritime history. The main attraction is the St. Roch, a historic ship that sailed through the Arctic in the 1940s, where you’ll find some cool reconstructions of the ship’s cabins.
The rest of the museum is equally engaging, with exhibits like intricate model boats and, when we visited, a temporary exhibit on canoes. Kids will love the museum’s play area, complete with dress-up clothes and hands-on activities.
You can tour the impressive ship and explore a variety of neat exhibits. The gift shop is also a treat, and the staff are incredibly kind and helpful. If you have young children, the Vancouver Maritime Museum is definitely worth a visit!

Tickets are easy to get and super affordable, making it an excellent option for a spontaneous night of entertainment!

Arrive early to enjoy the lounge—it’s one of the nicest patios on Granville Island.

This charming local theater is definitely worth checking out, especially if you’re into fringe and independent films. It’s a cozy spot with a lot of character, and if you’re a filmmaker, you can even rent it out for your own screenings!
Run by dedicated volunteers, the theater has a welcoming, community vibe, and regular patrons often seem to know each other. However, my visit was slightly marred by a noisy neighbor behind me, constantly kicking my seat.
On the plus side, they have a detailed calendar of upcoming films, available both on their website and in print, so you can easily plan ahead to catch your favorite screenings.

They require your information when purchasing tickets, so avoid waiting until the last minute to arrive.
Learn New Recipes at Dirty Apron Cooking School

See the Sights at FlyOver Canada

This is a fantastic family activity! The shows at FlyOver Canada in Canada Place are entertaining, and the gift shop has a great selection of souvenirs, while the café offers coffee, drinks, and snacks for a quick break.
The ride itself is super fun. The sensory effects make the experience feel incredibly real, with the wind, scents, and movements enhancing the entire journey. This immersive multi-sensory adventure is absolutely worth it!
With your feet dangling over the giant screen, you’ll soar over mountain landscapes, springs, forests, and even yurts. The experience will end with a visit to Santa’s North Pole.
Pro tip:
It’s a fairly long walk to the end of Canada Place, but if needed, there’s a somewhat hidden elevator inside near the Ports Offices.
Jump Around at Extreme Air Park

Extreme Air Park is a massive, well-maintained, and fun spot perfect for family outings or birthday parties. With an impressive 42,000 sq/ft of interlocking trampolines, there are plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained!
The main attraction is the huge jumping area, taking up about 80% of the space. There’s no shortage of things to do here—you can easily stay entertained for over an hour. To amp up the excitement, the lights periodically go down for a laser show set to music!
Pro tip:
To reach the parking lot, head toward the Amazon fulfillment center, then turn left and take the upper road toward building E. It can be a bit confusing, but it makes sense once you get there.
Have Fun at Kidtropolis

Kidtropolis is a fantastic spot for young kids, offering a miniature town full of fun and imagination! Designed with toddlers in mind, this “kidtropolis” features a giant play treehouse and plenty of playhouses for endless entertainment.
Kids will love the fast, exciting slide and the variety of career-themed stations where they can explore different roles, like firefighter, dentist, news reporter, vet, and even 911 operator.
There’s also a grocery store, nail salon, pizza spot, gas station, and a jail to complete the little town.

Attend a Concert at Orpheum Theatre

The BC Sports Hall of Fame is a fantastic sports museum that celebrates some of Canada’s greatest athletes across a variety of sports. It’s an impressive space—much larger than it appears from the outside—making it the perfect spot to visit, especially on game day.
One of the highlights is the exhibit dedicated to the 2010 Winter Olympics held in Vancouver, where you can even stand on one of the podiums used during medal ceremonies.

If you’re seeking a better deal, bring a ticket stub from a recent Canucks, Lions, or Whitecaps game for 50% off admission.
Head to Castle Fun Park

Castle Fun Park is a great spot for family fun! With plenty of arcade games and activities, it’s a lively place to spend the day.
The main attraction is definitely go-karting, but there’s so much more to enjoy, like outdoor go-karting, indoor bowling, target shooting, bumper cars, mini-golf, and a laser room.
There’s also an indoor golf range and a snack bar, though the food options are limited to pizza, popcorn, soft drinks, and candy. If you’re planning to eat here, you might want to do so beforehand or after your visit.

Start with the low-price option first, as the amount is non-refundable, but the card does not expire!
Test Your Skills at 6Pack Indoor Beach

It’s a great option for kids to experience a beach atmosphere indoors, complete with sand for building castles and playing freely. Admission is $14 per child, but adults can accompany kids for free.
Pro tip:
Access to the island is via the Knights Street Bridge, either north or southbound. While it’s not on any transit routes, it’s a short walk from the Marine Drive or Knights Street stops.

Clip ‘n Climb offers a fantastic mix of exercise and fun! With a wide variety of self-directed climbing walls, it’s perfect whether you’re flying solo or with friends.
The walls are bright and creatively themed, like the challenging Jack and the Beanstalk wall, which adds to the excitement. It’s a great activity for kids, too, with numerous walls that present different challenges, keeping older children engaged and entertained.
Adults can join in on the climbing fun as well, making it a family-friendly spot. The diverse range of climbing walls sets it apart from typical rock climbing gyms.
