If you’ve ever tried framing a special photo or artwork, you know it’s not as simple as picking a random frame off a shelf. I once brought in an old family picture, and the right frame instantly transformed it into something gallery-worthy.
Vancouver has some fantastic shops and talented framers who can do the same for your treasured pieces.
If you’re not sure where to find them, then this guide is for you. From quick, budget-friendly shops to custom framers with an artistic touch, take a look at Vancouver’s finest framing services!
How much do photo framing services cost in Vancouver?
Photo framing services in Vancouver cost $50 to $200 for small frames and around $250 to $700 for large ones. The final cost depends on the actual size, frame material, and glass type.

Contact Details: 604-708-8755
Hours:
- Monday – Friday, 10am – 5:30pm
- Saturday, 10am – 4pm
Commercial Picture Framing is one of the top photo framing services in Vancouver because of two main things: fair pricing and quick turnaround time.
For anyone who doesn’t want to wait weeks to get a piece framed, this shop is a reliable go-to.
Their efficiency doesn’t mean they cut corners either, as customers often highlight how neat, precise, and consistent the craftsmanship is. The owner, Bill, is also highly praised for his excellent suggestions.
One of his strengths is his straightforward approach. Instead of overwhelming clients with too many choices, he focuses on offering a well-curated selection of frames and matting options that balance quality and affordability.
This makes the process simple, especially for first-time customers who just want their artwork to look great without breaking the bank.
Notably, they’ve been in the business for over 35 years, a testament to their reputation and the trust they’ve built with the community.
On the other hand, we noticed that they lack online presence. While they do have a website, it lacks information about the business and its offerings and they also don’t have any social media pages for their updates or announcements.
Great eye. Pricing is very fair.
“Excellent work and customer service. Had 5 photos framed – didn’t expect to receive them until after the new year, but Bill had them done before Christmas. I would trust Bill’s suggestions as he has a great eye and pricing is very fair.”

Kimprints has become a well-loved store with two locations in Vancouver. Having been around for over 40 years, it has built a solid reputation as one of the best photo framing services in the city.
Beyond framing, the shop doubles as a gift store and gallery, offering everything from quirky home decor to locally inspired art pieces.
This makes every visit feel more like an experience than an errand – you can drop off a print to be framed and leave with a thoughtful gift or two.
When it comes to framing, they deliver solid craftsmanship and plenty of options. We also love their friendly and approachable staff who are always ready to suggest frame styles or matting combinations that complement your artwork.
We’d also like to highlight that they offer extensive custom framing, including full archival framing, canvas, and more. And after dropping off your photo or artwork, you can browse their art collection for sale as well.
Just some drawbacks that are worth noting are that products tend to be a bit pricey. And while we appreciate that they’re open daily, customer service is not that consistent as some customers shared about encounters with rude staff.
Beautiful job, and did it within our budget.
“Kim and her team did a beautiful job framing this painting for us. It was an old painting that was left to die in a closet of the home we purchased a couple of years ago. They once had it hanging on the walls with no frame, nails in the canvas. Kim and her team patched up the nail holes and painted them in, then they mounted the canvas on a white board for a floating effect. And put it in a beautiful frame. And they did it within our budget. Happy to say, we will do all of our framing with them moving forward!”

Incredible job. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
“Kimprints did an incredible job framing our art work for our new apartment. The staff was incredibly friendly, patient, and really helpful with choosing the right prints for us. They had quoted a 2-3 week delivery for the frames but it came in only 10 days. Would highly recommend their service!”

Address: 1360 Johnston Street, Granville Island
Contact Details: 604-736-7028
Hours: Monday – Sunday, 10am – 6pm
Opus Art Supplies is widely known in Vancouver’s creative community, and their Granville Island location stands out as a go-to for photo framing.
More than just a supplies store, Opus combines a full-service art shop with professional framing. We love that it’s a one-stop destination for artists, hobbyists, and anyone looking to preserve special pieces.
The framing department offers a wide selection of materials, including custom frames, mats, and protective glass, with staff who are both knowledgeable and approachable.
One of the best things about them is the guidance they provide. You have the option to frame the piece yourself in-store using their table and tools, with one of their staff members guiding you throughout the whole process.
What’s more, it’s very convenient that their products are available to order online. You can easily browse their website if you’re looking for something in particular before visiting their store.
However, there are a couple of drawbacks to keep in mind. Since they’re a popular destination for creatives, the Granville Island location can get quite busy, which may mean longer wait times for assistance.
Also, while it’s great that you can order online, some customers shared that there’s often a lot of unavailable items.
Such a gem of a place!
“I had no idea when I walked into Opus Art Supplies on Granville Island that I would walk out so delighted that I had completed the task I had gone in there to get done. Friendly and patient staff informed me that I would be the one stretching and stapling the canvas onto the frame. Lo and behold, I did it. Not only that. Once I had completed my painting at home, I was once again given guidance on how to successfully frame the canvas. Such a gem of a place – nothing but gratitude. Thanks to my helpers along the way.”

Exceeded all my expectations!
“My recent experience with Opus’ framing services far exceeded all my expectations. From Joe at the front counter who booked my appointment and patiently answered my questions, to Danielle who took all the measurements and assisted in putting everything together. She even made several recommendations such as the use of plexiglass in place of traditional glass and a DIY finish that could be applied to the existing frame. These greatly improved the overall quality of the finished product. Both staff were clearly incredibly knowledgeable and made the whole experience quick, easy and enjoyable. Thank you!”

Came through with flying colors!
“I am an architect/interior designer, and have been working with Hale for many years. He never disappoints! I have had him do some complicated framing work, where he had to think outside the box and help me solve some tricky framing issues, and he came through with flying colours. Love working with him and recommend Artryan very highly. Hale gives every job his very best effort. He is also a talented artist!!”
