Warning: this blog post may cause spontaneous outings, intense game-day excitement, and a serious case of sports bar envy.
Vancouver isn’t messing around when it comes to amazing sports bars, as our team found out. Forget lackluster venues and predictable vibes – this city has spots offering unforgettable experiences.
From cozy, hidden gems to high-energy havens with massive screens, you can consider this your ultimate guide to the best sports bars in Vancouver.
How we chose the Best Sports Bars in Vancouver
1. Shark Club Sports Bar & Grill
The Shark Club Sports Bar & Grill is definitely one of the best sports bars in Vancouver, known for its rowdy pregame atmosphere inside. We’re not playing, the crowd goes wild here during game day.
From what we’ve seen inside, it fits around 400 customers. So, whether you’re a small group of five or an entire fan club, you’ll fit inside just fine.
Oh, and there’s TVs everywhere, as far as the eyes can see! The Shark Club Sports Bar & Grill has 72 12ft x 7ft HDTV screens all over the place, which we were very much stoked about.
We don’t, however, like that there are only two private rooms inside this establishment. You’ll most definitely have trouble reserving one for game day.
Nevertheless, the Shark Club’s is quite impressive. They’ve got sports bar classic food like poutine, nachos, and chicken wings, as well as salad, burgers, and a handful of desserts.
We were also thrilled to see a whole menu of signature meals. So if it’s your first time here, you won’t have much trouble deciding on what to order.
All in all, we’re pretty impressed with everything we’ve seen here at the Shark Club Sports Bar & Grill. We definitely recommend them!
Pros
- Large seating capacity
- 72 12ft x 7ft HDTV screens
- Extensive menu
Cons
- Only has two private rooms
Great place for food, drinks, and watching a game
“Great place for food and drink and watching the game. Or if you are waiting to go for the game there is parking out front and you are a 5 min walk from Rogers Arena and BC Place…”

Good food and staff
“One of the best experience I had in Shark club. Food was very good and the staff was also very polite and humble. Definitely will visit once again with my friends.”

2. Score on Davie
Opened in 2007, Score on Davie is where you can watch the game and indulge in familiar Canadian favorites like poutine, caesars, and chicken wings. It’s a great pub we’re telling ya!
But what we really loved here was their caesars. They’re quite creatively made. They have these huge caesar drinks with every possible food you can imagine.
We personally loved the “Checkmate Caesar” as this drink is packed with burgers, chicken, onion rings, and one choice of dessert.
We were, however, underwhelmed by the few TVs in the place. But we did like that they’ve got some board games to play here.
As for the decor, what stood out to us was the awesome swear words on the wall and the bright lights illuminating the bar!
It’s also a great feature that they have both indoor and outdoor seating. And we must say, their patio is quite a charming spot to drink in so try to get a spot there if you can.
Also, the patio is a good option if you want to have conversations where you can hear each other as the music inside gets very loud.
If you’re looking for one of the best sports bars in Vancouver, Score on Davie is definitely worth checking out.
Pros
- Creative and fun decor
- Huge caesar drinks
- Provides outdoor seating
Cons
- Not a lot of TVs

3. The American
Located at the intersection between Mount Pleasant, Strathcona and Chinatown, perhaps what draws you in to The American is their unique open concept, communal space.
We personally find their space welcoming. It’s a great way to mingle with other sports fans while watching your favorite games on their many TV screens.
This sports bar is also a staple in the area as the building has been there since 1907.
It seems like there are endless things to do here aside from watching sports. The American also has arcade games like pinball and they also host special events like trivia, music bingo, karaoke and drag brunches.
Now,let’s talk about the food. The American’s specialty is their burgers, and we were fascinated to know that these burgers are made by their co-founder, Doug Stephens, using his own recipe.
Alongside their burgers, this sports bar also has a large selection of local taps and cocktails. These drinks are always rotating, by the way, which is awesome.
Overall, The American is a good place to have a good time watching your favorite sports games. They have an open space, good food, and various entertaiment options.
Pros
- Open concept, communal space
- Variety of entertainment options
- Hosts special events
Cons
- Can only accommodate 250 people
Chill bar atmosphere
“Pretty chill atmosphere in this bar. Nice open layout so you get privacy whether at a booth or one of the longer tables but it never feels cramped on space…”
-Mr. Dominique, Google Reviews
Lots of games to play with friends
“Really enjoyed going here for some drinks with our friends. Lots of pinball and other games to play!…”
-Mr. Fafard, Google Reviews
4. The Sportsbar LIVE! At Rogers Arena
As the official restaurant of the Vancouver Canucks, watching a game at the Sportsbar LIVE! At Rogers Arena is a sports fan’s dream. The atmosphere in this sports bar is buzzing.
There are large TV screens in every corner, dim lighting with strong lights illuminating the drinks shelves to the bar, and a nice, open seating area. It’s also connected to the arena so you can also see and hear the game from afar.
The best part about this sports bar is that you don’t really have to have a ticket to the game to dine here. You just have to head to the 3rd level of Rogers Arena.
Unfortunately though, the Sportsbar LIVE! is only open during scheduled events at Rogers Arena, so this may not be the best choice if you are looking for a sports bar to visit on a regular basis.
Even so, it stood out to us that they have a wide selection of alcholic beverages. From lagers, ales, Guinness, wine, beer, and cocktails.
You get to enjoy these drinks with classic game favorites like their signature nachos and/or chicken wings. It’s also nice to see their many “to share” dishes like mozarella sticks and fries.
The Sportsbar LIVE! At Rogers Arena is definitely up there if you prefer a sports bar that’ll feel like you’re at a game.
Pros
- Connected to Rogers Arena
- Huge variety of alcoholic drinks
- Nice selection of “to share” dishes
Cons
- Only open during game days
Awesome place to watch the game
“Awesome place to come to watch the game, get great food and drink some tasty beverage..”
-Mr. Lang, Google Reviews
Lots of games to play with friends
“Atmosphere is absolutely buzzing! Came here on game day when we were unable to get tickets to the game and it feels like you are part of the game…”
-Mr. Luo, Google Reviews
5. The Pint Public House
Founded in 2012, the Pint Public House is conveniently located next to Rogers Arena and BC Place. If that’s not appealing, we don’t know what is.
This sports bar stands out for their 16 beers on tap that are always rotating. So you’re sure to always have the option of trying something new when you visit.
We also liked that they offer bottle service for selected drinks such as Kettle One, Jose Cuervo, and Casamigos Blanco.
We went here on a Wednesday, and we were surprised to see a great deal on chicken wings – one pound of wings for only $8.50. Not a bad deal, right?
Another awesome thing is that the variety of chicken wings here at the Pint Public House is endless. From familiar flavors like honey garlic to signature creamy dill and margarita.
Apart from watching sports on their flat screen TVs, we also enjoyed dancing here. If that’s your cup of tea, head downstairs to get the flow going.
That said, the Pint Public House is a great choice for a sports bar in the city. The drink options are endless, they have a great deal on chicken wings on Wednesdays, and a lively ambiance.
Pros
- 16 rotating beers on tap
- Great deal on chicken wings
- Next to Rogers Arena and BC Place
Cons
- Lacking sports decor
TVs in every imaginable angle
“This place was packed when we went to check it out for a UFC fight night. There is a TV screen for every imaginable angle…”
-Mr. Isaao, Google Reviews
A place with lots of character
“You want to talk about character? This place has got tons of character. And there’s a lot of people showing up during the day in the afternoon for the food…”
-Mr. Green, Google Reviews
