If you’re looking for a gym that has different boxing programs for the youth and even for the parents, then you’ll love it here at Eastside Boxing Club.
The moment we entered, the space was filled with a good mix of beginners and advanced boxers, warming up or resting after an intense three-minute sparring session.
This space is also less intimidating compared to the other boxing gyms we went to. Everyone has been welcoming and friendly, which is perfect for beginners who are a bit shy to start training.
Even better, the coaches here are really supportive. We noticed that they really care about every client’s progress—and they will make sure to train with you too, which is very encouraging.
This boxing studio also offers a free after-school boxing class for the youth. They even provide all the boxing equipment, so if you have kids aged 13 to 19, then you may consider this too.
If it’s your first time boxing, we suggest availing of one session first just to see if this gym is the right one for you. And should you decide to continue, you may consider getting the monthly pass, which is relatively cheaper than the daily ones.
While the gym looks old, we love that the staff tries to maintain it. We appreciate that they always try to replace broken mats, just to ensure that their students won’t trip during training.

When we first tried Contenders, we were honestly a bit nervous. After all, their name sounded too serious.
Surprisingly, it was the other way around. The place wasn’t filled with serious fighters training for their next match. It’s actually a great place for beginners—and it wasn’t intimidating at all.
Here, the coaches made us feel comfortable, even though we’ve never ever learned how to make a proper stance. We love how the coaches would take their time in teaching you the basics, ensuring that you understand them before moving forward.
That kind of focus actually helped us ease into the sport, rather than force ourselves to throw punches during our first session.
We love that the place has been recently renovated. It’s also not too crowded even during peak hours.
For those who love squeezing in their cardio supersets or HIIT workouts, you’ll love that there are a lot of free spaces around the gym to do your circuits.
Our favorite part about this gym is their big monitor, which is a great spot if you want to watch PPV fights with a vibrant crowd.
We also appreciate that this gym offers spacious lockers, complete with towel service, which is particularly convenient for students and workers.
Just note that they have limited weekend classes.

For those who love an old-school boxing studio vibe then we highly suggest Sugarrays. This gym also has an area for circuit workouts and strength training, which has been a favorite among the male gym-goers.
When the ring isn’t in use for sparring, up to four students can train here. Otherwise, you’ll need to train outside the ring.
Most of the boxers training here are quite serious. But don’t get easily intimidated by them. The coaches here are really motivating and supportive, even if it’s your first day of training.
We even noticed that the community here is tight-knit. So don’t be surprised if someone (those are probably the regulars!) will approach you just to ask if you need any assistance.
We love that the sessions here don’t feel rushed. In fact, the boxing sessions felt longer than they were supposed to, as the coaches really give you their undivided attention.
Another thing that we love about this gym is that it has a sauna and a cold shower setup, perfect for recovery.

You’ll punch to the beat of the music, following the rhythm set by the trainer. It’s a great option if you’re looking for a total body workout that involves boxing and high-intensity interval training.
What’s great about this boxing class is that you don’t need to be a boxing pro; you just need to listen to the beat of the music as you follow the trainer in front of you.
However, don’t worry if you still want to squeeze in an in-depth boxing training session; Rumble Boxing Studio offers a customized training program. It’s a great option if you want to take a deeper dive into the different boxing moves and their executions.

The lockers and change rooms are also very spacious, which we love. And we appreciate them even more for providing the basic toiletries, so we don’t have to bring any.
