The 5 Best Podiatrists in Vancouver To Get You Back on Your Feet

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Experience and Specialisation: We picked podiatrists with extensive experience in treating a wide range of foot and ankle conditions, like bunions, ingrown toenails, and complex cases.

Accessibility and Convenience: We prioritised clinics with easy-to-access locations so patients don’t have to suffer from delays or difficulty getting to the clinic itself.

Pricing: We also took into consideration the affordability and transparency of each podiatrist. The best clinics should also accept insurance plans and give upfront estimates.

Customer Service: We prefer podiatrists who are friendly and professional to patients. Those who are responsive and accommodating were ranked higher.

My cousin, who’s a manager at a retail store, is constantly on her feet throughout the day. When she finally got the time to address the dull ache she was feeling, she booked an appointment at the nearest clinic.

Unfortunately, the experience wasn’t great. She left feeling rushed and without clear answers.

Worried that her pain might worsen before she found proper care, I decided to do some digging myself. After speaking with locals and conducting careful research, I found podiatrists in Vancouver known for their expertise and patient care.

Here is the list I shared with her—one that might help you too if you’re dealing with foot or ankle issues.

How much does a podiatrist charge in Vancouver?

A podiatrist may charge from $130 to $160 for an initial appointment. Follow-up appointments can cost around $70, depending on the treatment and service you need. Some specific services, like orthotics and toenail removal, can be expensive.

West Vancouver Foot Clinic is the first clinic that caught my attention. It has a spacious and modern facility. In fact, they have five well-equipped patient treatment rooms that allow them to accommodate multiple appointments.

It’s also reassuring that they cater to different services, like bunion, neuroma, and hammertoe surgeries. This is particularly helpful for patients who need more advanced or corrective procedures.

Their doctors are also kind and reassuring. A patient said that her kids were nervous and scared about the surgery, but the doctor made the whole process feel calm and comfortable.

Another great thing that this clinic has is that it accepts insurance, making quality podiatric care more accessible and affordable.

They also have enough doctors, ensuring that patients can get timely appointments and receive specialised care without long wait times.

However, since they handle numerous appointments, there are times when they fail to confirm bookings. A patient reported that her appointment was not listed in the clinic’s system, resulting in wasted time and effort.

Pros

  • Spacious and modern facility
  • Offers a wide range of services
  • Kind and reassuring doctors
  • Accepts insurance
  • Enough number of doctors
  • Friendly staff

Cons

  • Occasional issues with appointment booking
  • High volume of appointments

Great doctor

“Alina did my medical pedicure, she was amazing relieved my foot pain from dealing with corns! The Dr came in after and came up with a great plan to deal with my hammertoe. Instead of going for major surgery again. I felt so relieved leaving the office and grateful that I may actually get help!”

– Ms. Sandy Ginny, Google Review

Nice clinic

“I have only good things to say.

Excellent treatment, nice clinic, very friendly service, everyone is kind, specially the doctor.

She is definitely the best podiatrist in town!”

Foot and Ankle Clinic is another reputable company with another branch in Burnaby, offering convenient access to expert podiatric care.

One thing that stood out to me about this clinic is that they accept international or out-of-town patients. They even help patients find accommodations and transportation near their clinic.

When it comes to their service, they have it all. From surgeries to complex cases, they entertain a wide range of foot issues.

For instance, a patient who has a serious malunion complication thanked Dr. Patel for treating her using a bone healing device.

Another thing I appreciate about them is that they accept same-day appointments if they’re not fully booked. A patient said that he was able to get a matrixectomy the day he visited.

I still recommend securing an appointment, especially if you’re far, though.

One thing to note is that they have a small team. They only have 2 podiatrists and 2 nurses available. That means during busy periods, appointment availability might be limited.

Pros

  • Convenient access with two branches
  • Welcomes international clients
  • Comprehensive services
  • Offers same-day appointments
  • Personalised care
  • Friendly doctors and nurses

Cons

  • Small team size

Knowledegeable doctor

“I’ve recently developed heel pain after a hiking trip, and Dr. Patel was incredible in helping me. She explained all my options and walked me through what was right for me since I’m visiting from out of town. Dr. Patel is super knowledgeable and answered my laundry list of questions with ease. Both she and her staff went the extra mile to ensure I was comfortable. Highly recommend her office!”

Customised treatment plans

“Dr. Alysha Patel at the Vancouver Foot and Ankle Clinic has truly transformed my life. I was dealing with debilitating plantar fasciitis pain that made even simple tasks unbearable. Thanks to Dr. Patel’s expert care and a customized treatment plan, I’m not only pain-free but also able to fully participate in life again. I can now enjoy activities I love and, most importantly, play with my son without discomfort or limitations.

Her compassionate approach, clear communication, and the modern, welcoming clinic environment made the entire process seamless and encouraging. If you’re looking for a podiatrist who genuinely cares and delivers results, I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Patel and her team!”

Operating Hours:

  • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

  • Friday: 8:30 AM – 12:30 AM

Vancouver Podiatry is headed by two professional doctors, Dr. Mathews and Dr. Quintoro. They specialise in foot surgeries, including laser, hallux limitus, and bunion surgeries.

Their clinic is ideal for those with chronic foot pain and mobility issues, as they specialise in this area. If your concern includes foot skin conditions or non-surgical treatments, this clinic might not suit you.

Most of their patients are also those who have undergone surgeries. Some had ingrown toenail procedures, while most had bunion surgeries.

If there’s one thing that I like, it’s their sports medicine. Not all clinics have this service, so it’s reassuring to know that Vancouver Podiatry offers it. They cater to arch strain, shin splits, and sports injuries, to name a few.

Some of their patient athletes include tennis and basketball players. They particularly mentioned Dr. Matthews for bringing back comfort. There’s no wondering why because Dr. Matthews has an extensive background in professional sports.

However, their clinic can get really busy – their team is very limited.

Pros

  • Highly specialised surgeons
  • Ideal for chronic pain and mobility issues
  • Strong sports medicine services
  • Experience with athletes
  • Proven successful surgeries

Cons

  • Not ideal for minor foot concerns
  • Small team and high demand

Precised diagnosis

“We took our basketball obsessed son to see Dr. Matthews after my son complained of foot pain. Dr. Matthews explained with care what was going on, brought in some of his own experiences to further illuminate the case and was so thoroughly knowledgeable. I was so impressed that I made an appointment for my own foot pain immediately following my son’s appointment. If only all care providers offered such precise diagnoses and follow through. Big recommend.”

– Ms. Minelle Mahtani, Google Review

Successful surgery

“My left bunion rendered excruciating pain for years. I was sceptical about having bunion surgery due to the stories I heard from others of their unsuccessful surgery. A friend of mine and a patient of Dr. Mathew recommended, Dr. Mathew to conduct my bunion surgery. After the surgery I had no pain. My recovering and healing process was pain free. Two years later after my bunion surgery with Dr. Mathew I am pain free. My shoes fit comfortably. My foot looks much better. I highly recommend Dr.Mathews to anyone who is considering bunion surgery.”

Kerrisdale Family Foot Clinic might be a small clinic, but the services they offer are comprehensive. From routine checkups to surgeries, they have it.

This one is on my list because I appreciate their transparency regarding pricing. Of all the clinics I’ve encountered, Kerrisdale gave me a clear price. This gave me an idea whether to go for their service or not.

For instance, their initial appointment starts at $135, which is a fair rate for me. Then, their ingrown toenail removal procedure starts from $160. Still, pricing is reasonable.

The doctor is also professional and accommodating. Patients say that Dr. Dedhar is friendly and takes his time to listen to his patients. This attitude is important so patients won’t feel uncomfortable or intimidated throughout the process.

We’re glad that they also have direct billing to insurance providers. However, they only directly bill Pacific Blue Cross. But if you’re not insured with this provider, they’ll still give you a receipt and information on how you can get reimbursement.

Pros

  • Comprehensive services
  • Transparent pricing
  • Reasonable fees
  • Professional and approachable doctor
  • Direct insurance billing available

Cons

  • Small clinic size
  • Limited direct billing options

Professional doctor

“Dr. Dedhar is so professional  and good at what he does – I’ve had to get ingrowns cut out twice by him and he’s been so knowledgeable, gentle and comforting throughout a not-so-fun procedure. A huge help with aftercare and questions I’ve had as well. Would absolutely recommend.”

– Ms. Rachel Johns, Google Review

Excellent care

“Dr. Dedhar is always on time, provides excellent care and his clinic staff are also great. I’ve been going here for 4 years now and will keep coming back for my annual orthotics. I like the plaster cast moulding, it’s worked way better for orthotics than the scans done with standing that was done at other clinics. I have gotten both half shoe orthotics and full sole ones here and highly recommend Dr. Dedhar.  Also he’s got some tips for foot care posted on his patient room wall that patients should know about foot care, which I’ve learned a lot from.”

Dr. Matthew Bolshin is a podiatrist at iHealthMD. He’s a member of the largest podiatric medicine and surgery residency in Florida. His experience gave us confidence in his skills and knowledge about foot health.

Dr. Bolshin caters to foot and ankle injury, custom orthotics, and even non-surgical issues like fungal nail treatment. Some of his previous cases include Morton’s neuroma, arthritic toe, and hallux limitus.

We like how accommodating and thorough Dr. Bolshin is. He takes his time to explain every process to the patient in a way that’s easy to understand. He also takes you through every action he takes throughout the process.

Another good thing about Dr. Bolshin is that he has an online booking system. It offers convenience, especially for busy patients who can’t afford to go back and forth to the clinic.

However, I found Dr. Bolshin’s pricing a bit high compared to other clinics. He charges $155 for an initial consultation and $80 for follow-up appointments.

Also, the clinic he’s in does not directly bill to any insurance companies.

Pros

  • Highly experienced podiatrist
  • Treats a wide range of foot and ankle conditions
  • Accommodating and thorough doctor
  • Offers online booking
  • Kind staff

Cons

  • Higher consultation fees
  • Does not offer direct billing to insurance companies

Positive and passionate doctor

“I have just finished the last stage of the current treatment with Dr. Bolshin and I am so happy I came to him. He’s a positive and passionate individual, who talks you through every decision he makes and action he takes. He’s very honest and clearly really enjoys his work and the patients he works with. Thank you Dr. Bolshin!”

– Ms. Judith Netscher, Google Review

Best podiatrist

“By far the best podiatrist I’ve seen. Dr. Matthew is skilled, addressed all of my medical needs, answered any questions I had, and has a great bedside manner.”
