Best Time to Go
The best time to go to Rogers Arena for a game is at 6:00 pm. This is when doors are open to the public and you can enjoy the pre-game atmosphere and activities before the game starts.
Things to Know
Sitting Capacity
Rogers Arena can seat 18,910 visitors watching ice hockey, and 19,700 for basketball fans. The arena has 88 luxury suites, hospitality suites and 2,195 club seats for a premium viewing experience.
Arena Bag Policy
The bag policy at Rogers Arena is pretty specific. Your purse, backpack, or bag must be no larger than 14” x 14” x 6” (35cm x 35cm x 15cm). For context, this size is roughly equivalent to a small laptop bag or a medium-sized purse.
Anything larger will not be allowed into the venue for security reasons. Should your bag exceed the size limit, you should return it to your vehicles or a secure area before they let you in.
Parking
Rogers Arena has an underground parkade that you can enter via Griffiths Way. You can go in the parkade through Expo Boulevard or Pacific Boulevard.
It opens 15 minutes before the arena doors. But, take note: slots here vary depending on the event. When the Canucks are playing, it’s not open to the public, while during a Warriors game, only limited slots are available.
What was the old name of Rogers Arena in Vancouver?
Rogers Arena in Vancouver is a vital hub for sports and entertainment, hosting major events like hockey games and concerts. It’s a must-visit for tourists seeking thrilling experiences and locals looking for top-notch entertainment right in their backyard.
Back in the day, Rogers Arena used to go by the name General Motors Place from ’95 to 2010, then briefly switched to Canada Hockey Place during the 2010 Winter Olympics.
But after that, GM bowed out, and Rogers Communications snagged the naming rights, giving birth to Rogers Arena.
What’s the difference between Rogers Arena and BC Place?
BC Place and Rogers Arena are like siblings, but one’s definitely the big brother. BC Place is this massive, unmistakable structure that’s hard to miss, while Rogers Arena is more low-key, despite being a hotspot for hockey and concerts.
