The Sunday Afternoon Salsa is an annual summer festival held in Downtown Vancouver’s Robson Square since 2006. This festival is organized by Jennifer and Stephen Dancey and co-organized and co-hosted by Baza Dance Studios.

The Sunday Afternoon Salsa begins at 3:00 pm here with free beginner lessons for those interested in dancing Salsa. This half-hour lesson is taught by some of Vancouver’s finest salsa trainers.

Where to Learn Salsa Dancing in Vancouver

Baza Dance Studios

Baza is a Vancouver-based Latin dance and dance fitness studio. They provide both in-studio and virtual classes, which we found to be very convenient for customers who prefer to learn Salsa from the comfort of their own homes.

Baza teaches a variety of dance styles in addition to Salsa, including Bachata, Zouk, and Kizomba. Their hourly rates range from CAD 85 to 110, excluding taxes.

Nonetheless, we liked how they offer discounts for 5 to 10-hour lesson packages. In addition, they also offer kids and teen dance classes, private lessons, and wedding dance packages.

Dominic Boyer Ballroom Dance

Dominic is a professional dance instructor with over 35 years of experience in dancing and teaching. He primarily teaches beginner, intermediate, and wedding dances.

We believe his business is a reliable dance studio to learn Salsa in because he has extensive experience in various dance styles. They offer both online and in-person dance lessons.

Dominic teaches a variety of ballroom dances and social dance classes. They provide CAD 35 trial lessons for individuals and couples.

VS Dance Club

VS Dance Club provides four essential skills to students. This includes steps, musicality, partnering, and body movement.

This establishment provides a comprehensive social dancing program that includes Salsa, rumba, tango, swing, and many other styles. VS Dance Club customizes its dance programs to meet the skill levels of its students.

You won’t need to bring a dance partner because they have in-house dance instructors, and you’ll also be able to dance with other students. This business is open from 11 am to 9 pm, Monday through Friday.

Dance Vancouver Studio

Dance Vancouver offers a structured approach to learning dance that has been fine-tuned by the owners, Patrick and Scarlet, who have a combined teaching experience of 30 years.

This dance studio specializes in Salsa and Mambo. They offer a variety of classes, including body movement, shines and styling, and musicality.

We recommend this company because they cover all aspects of Salsa, which we believe is ideal for dancers of all skill levels.
