The Vancouver Pass saved us from our terrible planning skills!

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

My friends and I are strapped for money, but still wanted to travel, so we got Vancouver Passes to save more. However, we ended up spending so much on our food (snacks and booze) than on the actual attractions, anyway! Still worth it, we say.

We’re all foodies at heart, so our spending could’ve been a lot worse. And at first, we didn’t know how much a Vancouver Pass could help us explore the best parts of the city without breaking the bank. Yet after a couple more trips with it, we now do.

So if you’re planning your own trip and just as curious, check out important information about the Vancouver Pass below to make your trip a breeze.

What is a Vancouver Pass?

A Vancouver Pass is a travel or digital discount pass that aims to help visitors save some dollars while travelling around the city. It can be a single-use or multi-day pass, depending on what type you get.

Why choose a Vancouver Pass?

You may choose a Vancouver Pass so you can enjoy big savings. For one, you can get up to 50% off or 2-for-1 deals at more than 60 attractions. This includes sightseeing or day tours, museums, and restaurants.

Besides discounts, you’ll get curated itineraries to make your whole day easier. An example of this is getting access to cool places like the Vancouver Lookout, which provides picturesque 360-degree city views. For us, it’s like a starter pack for tourists!

Not only that, but a pass is valid for the whole year from its activation. You won’t need to worry about cramming every single activity within a few days. No pressure!

What are the types of a Vancouver Pass?

There are several types of a Vancouver Pass depending on your travel needs:

City Tour Pass

The City Tour Pass is a Vancouver Pass ideal for first-time visitors and casual sightseers. This offers access to famous spots, like Capilano Suspension Bridge, Vancouver Aquarium, and more. This is ideal for cultural and natural attractions.

Summer Tour Pass

The Summer Tour Pass is a Vancouver Pass Tour that focuses on outdoor activities at seasonal attractions like Grouse Mountain and Stanley Park Horse-Drawn tours.

Other popular inclusions are Capilano Suspension Bridge and VanDusen Botanical Garden, as well as kayaking and bike rentals. This pass can also get bundled up with Whistler or Victoria day trips.

CityPassport Vancouver

The CityPassport Vancouver is a digital pass and city guide. Its mobile app comes with self-guided walking tours, audio guides, and recommended itineraries for hassle-free travel.

This pass provides mobile ticket flexibility with discounts at dining spots and stores too! It can get you up to 50% off or 2-for-1 deals at over 60 attractions, restaurants, and tours.

Top Attraction Tickets

The top attraction tickets are a bundle or curated selection for must-see attractions, such as Capilano Suspension Bridge, Vancouver Lookout, and FlyOver Canada.

You can also get these tickets from platforms like Viator, GetYourGuide, or KKday. We think this is great for visitors who already have a clear idea of where they want to go.

There are many benefits of having a Vancouver Pass. This means gaining access to top attractions, saving more through bundle pricing, skipping ticket lines, getting digital pass options, and discounts for families, kids, or groups.

Overall, getting a Vancouver Pass promises convenience when it comes to saving time, money, and other resources throughout your trip.

What are the disadvantages of a Vancouver Pass?

There are a few disadvantages to having a Vancouver Pass. For example, some bundles might not have the specific places you want to visit in a short time. At times, you might only want to go to only one or two places, since plans change all the time!

You might want to consider other things like reservation requirements, time limitations, and itinerary restrictions as well. We reckon the pass would work well if you’re willing to be more organized and follow a structured trip.

What are the best attractions included in the Vancouver Pass?

Capilano Suspension Bridge Park

If you want to see nature way up high with a Vancouver Pass, Capilano Suspension Bridge Park is a popular tourist attraction in North Vancouver that you must see at least once.

Just grab onto the thick steel cables and walk along 137 metres (450 feet) of this beautiful crossing. And don’t worry if it’s kind of wobbly—the bridge can carry a fully loaded 747 liner!

You can also stroll along a rainforest canopy, enjoy a thrilling walk above the canyon, and the like. This could be a fantastic date idea or self-care treat, in our opinion.

Vancouver Aquarium

If you want to use your Vancouver Pass to explore marine life, the Vancouver Aquarium in Stanley Park is one of its best inclusions. There are different activities, like exhibits, 4-D theatre, and other educational and interactive experiences to enjoy.

For one, you could see over 65,000 animals—we think some of the best ones are the giant Pacific octopus, northern fur seals, and sea otters.

FlyOver Canada

Afraid of heights but wouldn’t say no to a cool simulated experience? You can use your Vancouver Pass at FlyOver Canada! It’s an immersive flying adventure that lets you see some of Canada’s best views while on motion seats.

Basically, you’ll be suspended before a 20-metre spherical screen, while you’re simulating the feeling of flying over Canadian terrains. This also includes effects of wind, mist, and even scents! Very safe yet still exhilarating, in our opinion.
