B&K has been a family-owned and operated nursery for over 30 years, offering garden seeds, plants, and landscape supplies. They sell a variety of products, such as houseplants, perennials, shrubs and trees, hanging baskets, and planters.

Nevertheless, it’s worth noting that B&K has recently expanded its houseplant selection, which now includes a variety of exotic plants perfect for interior decoration.

We particularly liked the heart-shaped leaves of the philodendron pink princess plant. We think this houseplant is ideal for placing in your living area because it adds a nice touch to the room’s overall look.

Aside from plants, B&K offers a diverse range of natural stones for landscaping projects. Most of these stones are suitable for garden or patio flooring, and their neutral shades complement most color schemes.

We also like that B&K carries a large selection of soil, sand, gravel, and mulch products. They provide garden mix soil, compost blend, steer manure, and many other products.

We appreciate how thoroughly they explain the purpose of each soil so that clients can make informed decisions.

Customers who wish to have soil, sand, gravel, or mulch delivered, however, must note that B&K only provides delivery services within the Sunshine Coast. We do appreciate, however, that they can accommodate same-day deliveries.

They also rent out garden equipment as well! However, do take note there is a fee for drop-off and pick-up.

To sum it all up, we believe B&K has one of the best nurseries in Vancouver because they have a large selection of seeds and plants and a generous supply of garden soil.

  • Offers a fleet of trucks to deliver soil and mulch
  • Same-day delivery services
  • Has garden equipment rentals

Established in 1979, Leong’s Nursery has provided bedding plants and vegetable starters in Vancouver. They sell a variety of spring and summer flowers and plants, including petunias, marigolds, fuschia, assorted spring mix seeds, and many others.

We were especially impressed by their 100,000-square-foot greenhouse, which we think lets them house many plants and trees.

We also took a look at the extensive selection of vegetable and herb seeds offered by Leong’s Nursery. They offer several choices, some of which are kale, lettuce, strawberries, basil, and cilantro.

They also carry fall and winter plants, which caught our attention. We asked about their most popular product, which turned out to be chrysanthemums, which is their top recommendation for anniversaries and birthdays.

Now, we think it’s worth mentioning that Leong’s Nursery has been a member of the United Flower Grower’s Association since 1998, as we think this adds to their expertise.

Moreover, most of the customers we spoke with praised that their items are always in stock. Some clients also mentioned that their prices are reasonable and that all their plants are healthy and well-cared for.

Do take note though, that they don’t sell or rent garden equipment. We believe these additions would have been a wonderful asset to their store.

Nevertheless, we think this business has one of the best nurseries in Vancouver, and we recommend Leong’s Nursery to anyone looking to expand their plant collection.

Urban Roots is a one-stop-shop for plant shopping with 11 locations in Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. Some of what they offer include a wide selection of trees, including deciduous, shade, evergreen, flowering, and many more.

One thing that distinguishes them from the competition is that they sell old, aged trees. They also sell a variety of shrubs, perennials, ornamental grasses, herbs, and succulents.

We particularly like the popstar stonecrop, which has large clumps of salmon pink flowers covered in blue succulent foliage. Due to its high tolerance for pollution, this plant can grow almost anywhere, making it an ideal outdoor plant.

If you want to buy a lot of different types of plants, this place has a large supply!

In fact, most of the customers we interviewed praised the nursery as most of their plants are always available for bulk orders. They also mentioned how helpful the staff was in selecting the best plant for their collection.

Sadly, Urban Roots does not provide delivery, so customers must visit their physical pop-up stores.

Even then, we appreciate that they buy directly from local businesses. We believe that this promotes community growth, and we appreciate that Urban Roots hires locals and supports community initiatives.

The Jungle specializes in rare house plants and plant accessories, and we think they are ideal for sprucing up commercial spaces.

They have beginner-friendly plants like the Sansevieria snake plant, the Hoya Australis, pothos, and many more. These plants require little care, are simple to grow and have low light tolerance, so you can leave them for an extended period.

You don’t need to book in advance to access their plant bar either! The Jungle is open seven days a week and welcomes walk-in visitors during store hours.

That being said, we would like to point out that the prices at this establishment are higher than those at the other businesses on our list. However, we believe it is reasonable because their plant collection is geared toward commercial design.

Fantastic shop ambiance and helpful staff

“This is a very cool plant shop, saw the front display while passing by and decided to check it out. Nice interior/environment puts you in the mood to appreciate all the interesting plants on offer. Julia, the store keeper at the time I visited, was especially friendly and helpful in offering information about which plants I should get, how to take care of them, and other insights into the world of flora – could see the passion she has for what’s on offrr. As a novice who has never purchased a plant, this was an awesome experience.  Would highly recommend this shop to people interested in green gifts/decorations for the home!.” -Wonderin V.
